I was going to get white or sliver tie but then all his mad ty chinese relatives will freak out coz white+black is what you wear to a funeral

Something a little flashy but containing at least one color that matches your shirt/jacket or some other article. For some reason chicks pay attention to that ----. I've been to more wedding than I care to admit this past year, I'd say get tie selection advice from a sister or female cousin, and you could be doggy-pyloning one of the bride's maids by early evening.
Ninja edit: Pink is not the way, ever, it just says "you're gay". And solid black says "You're either an accountant, or a raging mormon and you don't put out".
