Re:What color to paint my block?

if you're going to paint it, paint it black, nothing else, this also helps hide any dirt and oil that accumulate over time.

Re:What color to paint my block?

get that dupli-color cameligan(sp) from autozone. thats good ---- by the way, and it looks cool as hell on a tool box. :P

naaww...I say dont paint it at all, just bead blast it, and clean it up or paint it black. one of the 2.

Re:What color to paint my block?

one of my buddys said Gun metal. how do ya think that would look?? i dont think it would look too shabbby.. ya man iv seen some ricer collors, like u know bringht Orange, or Green to match their car.. i think thats kinda ricer style. iv also had a bunch of ppl sayin keep it aluminum, and clear coat it or sumthin after u acid wash it.. keep the suj. commin. thanks guys

Re:What color to paint my block?

Ricers definately don't paint their blocks because they never have a block out of the car. Ricers paint their valve covers and stock intake boxes. Along with fuse boxes, battery tie downs, and radiator caps.

red with a red valve cover? ;)

1200º high temp paint in Ceramic aluminum color. Looks real nice almost like a somewhat brushed/polished aluminum look.

I like the sound of black

Re:What color to paint my block?

I say go with clean look, or black. You are also limited in colors, because you need high heat paint. I vote black or clean.

Re:What color to paint my block?

Please do not paint your block any color other than black or clear. I really want to clear my next block, but I want something that I know won't wash/burn off. I've never had good luck with engine paint. :-\

Re:What color to paint my block?

ok if your engine is dirty and it's in your car. get some degreaser, formula 88 and spray a ton of it on your engine after you've let it idle for 10 minutes. just to let the engine warm up and soften whatever grease, dirt is on it. after you've sprayed the degreaser on the warm engine, transmision and let the engine idle for 2 minutes and then turn it off. wait 10 minutes so it cools down some and then spray the engine with a garden hose that has a spray gun nozzle on it at full blast. don't spray too much water on the valve cover incase water gets in the spark plug holes, if it does get in there take out the water with a turkey baster and a vacuume hose. also avoid the distributor cap or put a plastic bag over it. after it's rinsed you can spray armor all on the hoses and plastic things to keep them looking new. when the armor all dries off on it's own it'll look like new.

Re:What color to paint my block?

I wouldnt recommend painting an aluminum block because you need heat dissipation, thats why it did'nt come painted from the factory
