What car gets best MPG for under $3000
 

I comute about 100 highway miles a day and want something that gets more than 30 mph, what are my options besides a CRX? My wife wants it to have A/C too.

Just make your car more efficient.


1) Put skinnies on your civic (ie. spares in back) and run 40 psi front 75 psi rear
2) Next get AFC or a economy ROM and turn fuel down 5% for cruising.
3) Put Dimpled Fiberglass on as an underbody to reduce drag
You'll hit 40 mpg no problem... Just don't turn hard...

120 mile round trip commute.

A/C is 60-2

they're civic models, economy vtec motors getting in the 40's highway for mileage.

dodge shadow. had one that ran forever on a tank of gas. plus they made a turbo coupe edition. or theres always the alternative.

I get infinite miles per gallon on my bike, but my commute is only 6 miles round trip.

My turbo y8 gets 32 with a mix of city highway, and boosting during most acceleration, small turbo. Its mostly highway, but not for long periods...

When I went to ohio my accord got 35mpg going about 70 to 75mph, it was cammed with intake and exhaust.

those 3 bangers own you.. with tiny tires and 0w30 oil.. should run nice.. if you can fight off the temptation to get loose on the gas pedal ;)
