What can get rid of corrosion in the cooling jackets?

well, if you are able to fluch your cooling system( as in your ---- isn;t torn apart) you can buy this coolant flush that is a half acid/base where you basically run the acid through your radiator and chase it with water for 5 min, then follow it with a base that neutralizes the acid, i think 3m makes it.

Also note that it's normal for any aluminum head engine to have white or brown coating inside the water jackets. The manufacturer puts stuff in the coolant in the factory to seal small cracks in the casting.

well, I had the whiteish coating, but I also had hard chunks of green ---- stuff to the walls of my block in there, and in the hose outlets and stuff. I suspect someone ran a lot of straight water in it before I got her.
