Habor Freight Represent

Who needs a warranty, when you can rebuy almost any tool there for 5 bucks :y

I actually bought an air chisel today for some body work. The little fucker worked great, came with 9 chisels, and cost 10 dollars!!! I dont even know how you can sell it at that price!!! But most importantly it did the job better than I expected!!!

but in all honosty... the majority of tools i own are craftsman

Re: what brand tools

craftsman and a few snap-on. that chineese wal-mart ---- is just that. good for around the house kinda work, but if you are gonna work on cars and do work, that ---- just isnt gonna cut it. I do however firmly believe in the $1.99 snippers from wal-mart. those things are gold.

the only other set ive ever seen is a set of cresent tools. my bro-in-law has a set he got from sams...real nice tools IMO and I think he only paid like $250 for everything. Not bad for a set of weekend tools.

also...(and I say this in every "tool thread") go to swap meets. you can find boxes of craftsman tools for dirt cheap, and then simply return them on the way home. This is how I have built pretty much all of my tools. I also have a 120peice craftsman set in one of those nice plastic cases that I take to junkyards. I snagged it for $60 at a pawn shop. Its in my last big picture thread I made a few weeks ago.

Craftsman for the hand tools and all my sockets. GF worked there so everything was hella cheap when a sale was on.

Some of my stuff is Snap-on, but not a ton. Just a couple specialty things. None of the basic tools.

My power tools are all Milwaukee.

Bandsaw is Craftsman.

Matco box and mostly craftsman hand tools. Craftsman air compressor and craftsman power tools. I have a few matco, mac, and snap-on tools. I'd at least go with craftsman hand tools because of the hassle-free lifetime guarantee.

Re: what brand tools

rigid, dewalt, and milwaulkee drills. ryobi makes a very good drill for the money. rigid used to carry a lifetime warranty on thier drill i dont know if they still do.
i use rigid and reed pipe cutters, both are comparable in quality. bosche, and makita jack hammers, the makita has more power and is a 60 pound. kubota back-hoe, same controlls as a bobcat. thats just a few tools. but as far as screwdrivers i go with the 99 cent walmart ones cuz they work just fine and dont cost me much if i loose them on the job. porter-cable saw-zall, surefire mapp gass torch. surefire oxy accedaline torch. argon plasma cutter. passlode nail gun.

Re: what brand tools

Craftsman hand tools are the best deal quality/price, hands down. Also when you break them, they replace them no hassle.

The snapon stuff that I have is reall really nice but the cost is pretty out of hand. Give people hints that you want it for presents.

Powertools: bad luck with craftsman. Good luck with bosch (drill, angle grinder), portercable (tigersaw), hitachi (chopsaw) Bad luck with old unheard of brand japanese drill press

Welding: Good luck with Lincoln Electric Weld pak 100-had it for 10+ years bullet proof.
