Westcoast-Turbo, are you kidding me?!?

So I got referred to these guys through someone on here, and it's been nothing but a nightmare. I ordered some charge piping from them, which on their site, appeared to be brand new with quality cuts and bents. Well, it took over a month to ship my piping, and this is the kind of ---- I finally recieved this morning...

Nice packaging, couldnt find a box that fit?... ::)
http://x11.putfile.com/4/10908582865.jpg
So much for "brand new piping." Looks like this shits been used for years..
http://x11.putfile.com/4/10908581571.jpg

The U-bends are NOT U-bends, rather two 45's coupled together. The cuts on the piping are sloppy as hell, and dont even get me started on the couplers... Theres tape and ---- all over the pipes, the clamps are cheap, etc etc etc... I am so disappointed right now it's sickening.

Thanks a lot westcoast-turbo, for really putting a damper on my mood towards boosting. Oh well, what else can I do but suck it up and work to make the ---- look/fit good.

In conclusion, I have learned that www.westcoast-turbo.com is nothing but a joke, and I WILL NEVER recommend them to anyone...ever

well, I would have if I wasnt a noob and knew exactly what I was looking for and needed. Unfortunately this is my first time boosting. I was looking for something very close to "ready to use" and this was the most complete looking kit I found.

And yes, it came just like that, no peanuts, no news paper, nothing...

....I know that it will still work, I'm simply trying to give an accurate dipiction of how this company works, so that no one else will have to deal with the ---- I dealt with.

And yes, my plan has been to paint the piping black from the get-go, but thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully I can work on that this weekend

No, I actually haven't bought these before. But these are REALLY dirty inside and out. The couplers look faded as hell. ANd the quality of the cuts is horrid. I'm going to have to do something to smooth them out real good or I'll end up with shards of metal in my motor...

It's black fiber-on-the-outside bends, a little dirt gets on them they look dirty. The fiber is great as they protect you from getting cuts in the connectors easily, which the pure silicone ones are really prone to. Wash them in soap and water, jeez.

There is nothing wrong with those mandrels. They come coated in cosmoline or some goo to prevent oxidation, and dirt and ---- from cutting them has gotten inside - boo ------- hoo. When you go to cut on them to make them fit your actual car, the same exact thing will happen. Wash them in soap and water, too.

As for the quality of cuts *shrug*. I cut the black fiber bits with a chop saw as anything else leaves them a little wavy. As for the quality of them sealing, that's not a problem at all. Welcome to HMT, you've got about what everyone else has. *shrug*

As far as the clamps, T-bolt units run about $3/per. For your average 5 to 6 hose connections you'd need 10-12 clamps. That's $30 right there, how much did you spend again? Uh huh.

Re: Westcoast-Turbo, are you kidding me?!?

Everybody wants low cost ----. Then some guy starts buying this ---- in bulk and marking it up a dollar and calling it a business. People buy because it's cheap, and the only reason it's cheap is because that's the only way for the new guy to make a name for himself, because everyone and thier mom sells it.
Making a dollar on the lowest cost ---- you can find (garbage) only leads you to throw the garbage in the box and get it gone. Although it's not an excuse for him, if you want something, pay for it. That's the only way it's going to work.

When I was selling purosil I cut it on a bandsaw. I threw away more than I actually shipped because cutting it is a bitch, and half of them weren't worthy of showing up with my name on them. It takes more than a website with flashy pictures to give your "company" the image it's going to need to survive.

I'd say in the ----- vs. quality U-bend market, LSD Mike is probably the safest bet.

The local machinist bores and modifies the shaft for $40. Supply your own parts. Wes found an OEM 65mm throttle blade off of something, he thinks Oddessy, but can't remember. Turned out pretty well.

Re: Westcoast-Turbo, are you kidding me?!?

Thanks for the love guys!

When it comes down to everybody selling the same stuff and trying to out------ each other to gain a name, customer service is all that's left. We take our customer service very seriously. We have lost a lot of money on different occasions, because we refuse to screw our customers.

As for charge piping kits, I was disappointed to see other businesses come in and really cut the bottom out of the charge piping kit market. And at the time WestCoast joined in, I decided that we would not be a part of that price war. I had hoped that providing a quality kit, and backing it up with excellent customer service would be enough.

Although I am not in the habit of takling poorly of other businesses, it that is how your charge piping kit arrived, then you have a right to complain about what you revceived. If a company has cut the price so close that they can't even package the product correclty, then we probably won't have to worry about that company being around for a long time. Nobody wants to open their package and see a bunch of jumbled up parts all tossed in where they can bang together. So what if it's just steel pipe and rubber connectors, the customer has a right to feel like their purchased product meant something to the seller.

Rant Off,

Craig

Valid point but starting the thread meh I find it lame. But ya if they cant go steal a bunch of newspaper and pack and spent the extra 3 minutes to do it right well ya no bueno.

Re: Westcoast-Turbo, are you kidding me?!?

Sheeeeit... that kit looks fine to me. When I ordered my charge piping kit I made all the cuts myself, with a sawzall in my hands and the pipe supported between my feet because I lack proper cutting tools (chopsaw) and pipe holding fixtures (vice). My cuts are all crooked and chinky but all that's covered up with the couplers :6

edit: I didn't get my kit from westcoast turbo by the way. I'm just sayin that when you buy a cheap piping kit, don't expect no bling blang blaow. So what if the kit they sent you has tape on some pipes? or your couplers aren't cut perfectly? It's a cheap kit that will do what you bought it to do. You get what you paid for.

When I buy bends, they usually come in a fine mohogany box packed with diamonds delivered on the back of a rare 4 humped African Llama whose brain I then eat because it's a delicacy.

Mine come the same way! :o

Looking at your pics, those pipes look fine to me. The cuts arent noticeably rough, and all the pieces are there. Customer service sucking isnt something any customer should have to deal with though. I'm not saying i'd ever buy from them, but it wouldnt surprise me if the IC piping kit works just fine for you.

Hey, You don't know me man, so stfu. The only time I spend online is when I'm at work, check my post times dick. Once I'm outta work for the day, I dont touch my computer again until the next morning. Moving on...

To whoever said bitching online is stupid and to call them blah blah blah. You try and call them, then talk to me. I called them probably 25-30 times throughout this whole ordeal, AND NEVER SPOKE TO A HUMAN! They didnt even have the decency to send me an e-mail response (yes, I e-mailed them a few times as well) to say that they were going through some ----, and that they'd ship it on XX/XX/XXXX. Instead, they let me wait for A MONTH, with the order just kinda hanging in limbo.

The customer service was horrid, in all aspects, and THAT is my complaint.
