went to the track last night *with video*

well, i went to the track last night hoping to run a flat to low 13 on street tires now that i got a clutch. well, i was spinning throught 1st, 2nd, and most of 3rd, so that did happen :-\ my best time was a 13.7 with a 2.4 60 ft. :P my 60 ft times were in the mid 2's all night, i just could not hook up on street tires period! the next thing i'm buying is some slicks! if i could pull a 1.8 60 ft with some slicks, that would prolly be a high ass 12 or 13 even. and i was only running 11 psi, i turned it down the day before b/c i kept blowing couplers, so i turned it back up on my last two runs and blew my upper charge pipe off both times :P the car isn't even tuned, just a basemap. with some tuning, fine tweeking and some slicks, it's definitely a 12 second car. even though i havne't had any good times, i know it won't take much and won't be long. ;D

here's the video of one of my runs, yes, it's shitty video, but it's better than nothing. frank (sccaeg) is video taping.

RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE !!!!!!!

here's a couple short clips we took the other day, i'm gonna get a new camera one day, just bear with me :-\

You could enable launch control in your setup, that might help you out a bit.

oooops, fixed. my trap on that run was 104 i believe. i may be getting some slicks here very soon and more than likely getting tuned and get some better couplers to run 13 or 14 psi and i should get in the 12's. i was going to build a b18 block, but i may get a bigger turbo, better manifold, and bigger charge pipes and push the stock b16 to the limits and see if i can't get it in to the low 12's high 11's on stock b16 with full interior by next season, we'll see...........

where you power shifting?(staying full throttle between shifts) and what rpms did you launch at?
when i took mine to the track my best time was a 14.7 104mph trap. 35psi in the tires, shitty traction.
same car as you, t3 60 trim 11psi.

i think i was launching about 4k or so, i don't have my ftl setup b/c i'm a dumbass, that could prolly shave off 1 or 2 10ths easily. no, i don't powershift, i was running about 17 psi in my tires. what were you're 60 ft times? you were either dumping way to high or way to low and bogging.

60ft where 2.7 or 2.8

:o is it possible to have that slow a 60 ft time. if you got some slicks and launched right, you could get that down to 1.8-1.9 easily and shave off more than a second off your et.

you where running 17psi on street tires? did you try 20-25psi? if so which psi was it hooking up better at? 17psi is extremely low i think.

WRONG!!!!!!!!! The lower the psi the worse it gets on street tires. With low tire pressure on street tires the only rubber touching the road are the slim outer portions of the tires. Now go bang your head against the wall...

Don't. Run your street tires at the required pressure. Don't treat your 60,000mile tires like wrinklewalls. ;)

Re:went to the track last night *with video*

when i went to the track i ran 3 times with 44psi which is the recomended max pressure. i droped the psi to 35psi on my last run to 35psi and it hooked up better, it ran 2/10th
sec. less. i noticed it hooked up a bit better too. i think the lowest on street tires is 25psi, which is what some guy with a supercharged rsx type s was running. he smoked the crap outta souped up late 90' camaro ss.

we'll see who's motor blows first, my b16 or your d16, then we'll see who's cooler (you're cooler if your motor blows first, just fyi)

You do know that the 44 psi isn't the recommended tire pressure ::)

It the max psi the tire can handle. The recommended pressure for your tires should be in your manuel or gas cap. I have mine at 32-36 in the rear and 30-34 in the front depending on what time of the year.

You don't believe me?
Think about it like this, air expands, so why are you gonna fill it to max load? Is it a good thing for it to expand at max load?

Yeah, and then we'll calculate who had to spend more money to get back on the road again. :P
