well, my fc rx7 almost caught fire.
yeah, damn pulsation dampener bullshit. anyway, i am replacing it with something else to totally eliminate that. soposidly what it does is eliminate water hammer, but i dont see how it would do that with all those hoses. i have never heard of a water hose having that.

if the pulsation damper is leaking, and you want to replace it (not just plug it) then you can use a s5. The rail should still be fine.
almost every s4 rx7 ive seen has had this problem at one time or another. And if you want to buy a new fuel rail. Well they are pretty cheap and not too hard to find.
