Is this welding helmet safe to use?
I picked up this welding helmet cheap on e-bay, and I was just wondering if it's safe enough to use while welding up my manifold. ;D

Seeing as we can't see the pic, but if it is a "WELDING HELMET" I would assume YES!

Re: Is this welding helmet safe to use?
If its a welding helmet then you are fine. Unless there is big cracks in the front of it or something you'll be fine. If you know what shade darkeness it is then you can find out wheather or not its dark enough or not. For most arc welding you want something that is over 9 or something

Re: Is this welding helmet safe to use?
yeah it has to have the right lens. you should be able to stare at the sun on a very bright day and see nothing, or a very vague light spot. and no that is not the correct way to see if you have the right lens

I like welding glasses like these. The chicks dig the tan lines.

Re: Is this welding helmet safe to use?
The second ones are actual welding glasses, the top ones are cutting glasses. I've used three pairs of sunglasses, taped together to weld before. Anything works as long as its not a huge welding project.
