Welders!

so I want to purchase a welder so I can make my own piping, weld stuff thats not really to thick, do you guys think that http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=45032 this could do the trick? I wnat something around 300 bucks I guess that would be good to do stuff like regular piping and what not. I'd also be interested in something that price to make manifolds. any clue? PLEASE :-D

Never used that brand of welder before but if you did buy it get gas for it. Welding with that flux core bulshit sucks you get splatter all over. I have a 120v lincon mig for at home and it works great.

I have the same welder. Just like he said, flux core sux, but it works. The thing about that welder is that it needs a gas tank (not included). I've only used flux core with it and it works fine.

I wouldn't buy anything under 110 amps, You can weld with less on small ---- but its hard to get nice penitration soo its strong and looks clean speend the extra 100 bucks or look for a used miller or hobart. Mine is a miller 185, I had a 110 and it was too small for some ----.

If you're just looking to do pipes and manifolds, you might want to take a look at this one. If I had a place to weld, I'd get it. If you have a local Harbor Freight, you're even better off because you can go pick it up tonight if you want. It's cheap and should get the job done. Obviously if you're looking to do more, you'll want to get a nicer one, but for the things you mentioned, this should work fine.

that's what i just told you, i'm not tryin to flame you, but they got the same welder at wal-mart for 10 bucks cheaper, so if you won't be using gas, go and get it there, use it for what you want, then return it, that's what me and my friend did

My experience is, buy a good welder now so your not wasting money when you have to replace it. Get a Lincoln MIG pac10 or 15. Yeah your going to spend $150 more but the welds you get are going to be cleaner and nicer and you'll thank yourself later. If your serious about adding a welder to your tool collection don't buy a piece of ----, if you buy something good you'll end up using it more and you'll be happy with what you bought

they sell that campbell one at walmart for 200. I got a $300 craftsmen welder, I haven't used it yet, I need to go get gas and a strap for my mask.
