Weird PC Beep(s)

I've noticed that while playing counter-strike my pc speaker beeps.

Like 10 minutes into playing the pc speaker beeped once. like 10 minutes later it beeped twice.

So i shut the game off, and watched a DivX Movie (Alien VS Pred). 25 minutes and no beeps. So I load CS back up and while its connecting to a game the computer shuts right off and turns back on. I heard the HDD's power down and power up..

nothing since. im lost, haven't been able to find anything about it on the net.

Anyone have some insight?

ecu might be over heating. those beeps are a warning.

Re:Weird PC Beep(s)

I'm going to install a logger to log the voltages/temps of the computer... we'll see..

anyone know if the new power supplies work on p3's?

i notice all new PSU's arep4/AMD Support but will it work on a older p3 too?

Re:Weird PC Beep(s)

Yep it will work fine. Sounds like either an overtemp issue or a voltage drop. Looks like you have things under control so far.

go look up what the beep tones are. There is a guide to that for your motherboard I think.

Re:Weird PC Beep(s)

antec and enermax, only people(i trust and use) that make a cheap/good power supply.
here if you dont know how to get them cheap(well for $40ish):
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...ion=17-103-917
http://www.legendmicro.com/store/mor...roduct_ID=2619
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=270300

i would pop for a antec case with powersupply since its only $20 more. you can save ur self $20 when building a computer by using a cheap case and powersupply but your gonna spend aleast $20 to replace a bad power supply with another shitty one. just pop for the good stuff the first time.

Re:Weird PC Beep(s)

i completely agree. next case is going to be a Antec Sonata w/ 380w TruePower.

(will a truepower 380 work on a p3 board and cpu until i upgrade?)

lol.... i need to find me one of u geeks :P

how about this one... think its a problem with my wiresless router or my modem? If i download a video that take more than 20 seconds, it stops, then i have to try again and it picks up where it left off. Also, when i go on AIM, it works for a few minutes, then it says "please wait" when u look at info or anything. Sometimes it signs me off, sometimes itll just work again. When my girlfriend tries to use her laptop here, it does the same thing to her AIM, i dunno about videos tho. its almost like theres a pause in the connection or something.

if its a netgear wireless router mine does that too, occasionally my aim will restart but thats the only problem i have i can download without any hiccups.

oh yeah iam buddies with a guy that owns a computer shop they make over 50% of thier profits on PC repairs. they sell parts for 2x the price i can get them for and charge $45/hr. so they make good money meaning you lose they win.

i meet my current good friend buy installing him a CD burner. now i converted him to a computer geek and now he runs a few porn sites. now he ask me to fix his ---- cause he's lazy.

lmao, I love seeing people's faces when in install a stick of ram, they're in awe, lol.

about the network cutting out.. get the internet company to check the line levels. might be too low. also, always use the latest drivers, for everything (except video cards)

Re:Weird PC Beep(s)

yeah people think its difficult but its not. working on cars and computer or chipping ecu's or building conversion cables are like advanced lego sets for me.

humm i never had problems with most uptodate video drivers. must be a ATI(damn canadians) thing.

No ----.

Both my car and my truck make strange beeping sounds. It's a quick "chirp" and it does it like once a day. I have no idea WTF it could be. ???
