flash using action script is even easier to update than basic HTML...it is just harder to build.

I've done one Flash site... I just didn't like it and didn't feel like pursuing it any further than a template. I'll post a link as soon as I upload it.

And you guys need to figure out what the end user is getting and what the "winner" is supplying. It's all well and good that actionscripts make updates easy, but who's going to do the updates? A guy who can't construct his own webpage with basic HTML?

EDIT: http://www.knuckleheadpress.com/TEMP/index.htm
for text updating.

i can build the whole site in flash and have a TXT file on the server, and all he has to do is make changes to the TXT file and upload it, and MAJIC!!! it's updated.

for pic's/files updating.

this prosses is harder if you use flash 100% on the site, but not as hard as you think it is IF you use 50/50 flash to HTML.
in stead of making the WHOLE site flash, just use the menu bar and title as FLASH, and the rest HTML, and there u have it, you can update the HTML. just like using FRAMES.

trust me......flash looks alot nicer, and it is the way to get people to come back JUST TO LOOK AT YOUR PAGE.

Here is a link for an intro i did for Jeff (draglab)
it was done on short notice, and i did it over the weekend + couple days with about 2 hours a day, most of which was spend talking how we were going to do this before the deadline of the DRAGLAB's release date.

I can't say I'm too found of flash introductions on this particular development. If you are trying to sell a product, you shouldn't be bothered with an intro. A commerce site like this needs a direct outing to the product being marketed.

I respect those who can do good work with flash since I am not that talented with flash intro's and such. They have their place and time, but for a professional site's sake, there really isn't a need for one for this type of project.

I personally like a little bit of flash intergrated into a site. Something with a simple intro would be cool, I like how this website is layed out.

Ya know whats kinda funny.. Full-race and Love-fab's websites use to be almosted designed exactly the same, and I think it was kinda of bothering cody. so now if you look at www.lovefab.com and www.full-race.com you can see full-races website is all fancy and whatnot, and lovefab is just a basic simple layout.

I hate flash, personally. I buy everything when i'm at work so the woman doesn't bitch about me buying so much ----, but at my work comp is stripped down so I can't even see the HMT main page since it's flash...

good example of using a little flash on a HTML page, ans it is easi to update.

that is how i like to use flash, and it can be direct and str-8 forward, without and intro.

I don't know ---- about anything, but I hate when I have to wait for an intro to load. If I have to wait for the page to load for more than a few seconds, I'm most likely going to click the little red "X" at the upper right hand corner. Yeah, most of them have that "skip intro" button, but I'm a lazy bastard. :P

Flash intro's used to be ok when they were new. Now they're just annoying unless they're REALLY good. Even so, people really only see it once. It's not worth the time and energy IMO. That said, I 100% agree that a small amount of Flash in the right places can really make a site stand out.
