Web Video / Camera Monitoring Systems &/or Software help?

Hey, I need some direction on some places to buy video camera monitoring systems...I would prefer cheap and easy web stuff, or rather outdated and cheap hardwire VCR ----...

Anyone got some links to good software that can monitor more than one camera remotely and can compress and save large amounts of video to hard drives or perhaps a DVD backup drive or something?

He had a set up at the Palisades mall. I was able to ask him a few questions, and he was very helpful. He's in the Bx., but maybe you can pick his brain by phoning him. Hope that helps.

I purchased a system from http://www.supercircuits.com for about $750

I'll report back when I get it installed and start using it. O0

Well...I'm gonna keep that on the D/L just in case any 'interested' parties come across this...you know how I mean.

I went with a basic camera setup with a pretty high end DVR that has a hard drive and networkable remote viewing features...

That makes sence about keeping it on the d/l

How does the remote viewing work. I am looking to install something at my parents cabin, but because the power goes out quite frequently, i dont know if things would be effected, like if the system would need to restart each time, but there is no one there to push the button, you know what I mean?

did you check into turning an old pc into your DVR, could have possibley saved you some money, there are some progs. that will convert everything down to avi or mpeg2. but i don't know how many "chanels" you could record.
