^^^ ditto. accept i had like 250 megs of porn on mines, and they just died all of a sudden after they where acting weird for like 5 years. sometimes they would make noise, sometimes not. sometimes they dont show up, but sometimes they do. sometimes the movies would skip like crazy, sometimes it was perfect. then one of the drives caught fire, and since there where stacked up and ther bottom one cauht, the whole shitbox ( it was an external type dealy ) was dead.

Your computer sound like it just needs some spyware taken out of it. SP 2 is mostly drivers and security patches, and it adds the security center thing.

I would go to lavasoft and get ada aware personel 6. That should clear most of it up. Sound like you got a virus or spyware.

sounds like you got a case of winxp sp2 ------- your ---- up. sp2 conflicts with alot of programs, and doesn't like certain hardware. after installing sp2 on the xp partition of my amd64 laptop, that ---- would reboot like every 30 seconds. this is a known issue with amd64 and sp2. there is a fix for it, but i cant remember where i found it. another program that caused my p4 w/ sp2 to crash was zonealarm. i had to update to a newer version. that ---- kept making my p4 crash all day.

service pack 2 is REALLY ------- BUGGY, and alot of ---- will fuckup after you install it - depending on what hardware/software you have installed.

here are some links from microsofts website on why your ---- might be crashing. there are more, and you can look those up if you want, but i found these two really quickly and they looked like they might relate to your problem.
