I actually have even more respect for those that go and risk their lives to do their job for the country despite it being a retarded cause.

I know a lot of those in the military support and believe in the cause, but not all do and they do their job anyway.

I can't stand collectors calling for money, but I don't disrespect them for doing their job.

I think its a whiney-bitch move to make that comment because he doesn't support the cause.

WWII ended a long *** time ago. Guess what...I just left Okinawa, one of the major battles of WWII. I lived there for 3 years.

Iraq will never end man. The place is going to turn into a 'strategic location' for Iran and other dumb ---- countries.

Georgia retaliated, bombing a Russian base and a village; they killed several Russian soldiers and 1400 civilians (many of whom are Russian citizens). Yea basically this is anouther example of why the US should stop ------- around with other countries, we armed them and trained them, then their soldiers went to iraq and now have combat experience, and now we act really suprised when they start using their new tools?


oh and speaking of Okinawa, did you know that japan actually pays for most of the expense to keep those 37 bases there? I forget the actual amount but i can post it, its part of the japan security treaty, and your right those bases like the ones in Iraq are sources of revenue for states that are home to weapons manufacturing plants and other military industries, its a huge source of revenue and those companies have a powerful. lobby in washington

Fidel Castro hints at Russian air base in Cuba
Fidel Castro has revived memories of the Cuban missile crisis by refusing to rule out the possibility of Russia constructing a new base for its nuclear bombers on the island.

Reports in Moscow have claimed that the Russian air force is going to resume flights of its long-range bombers to Cuba, six years after military co-operation ceased between the two countries.

In a cryptic message posted on the internet yesterday, Mr Castro praised his brother Raul, who inherited the presidency in February, for defying pressure to explain Russia’s military intentions in Cuba.

“Raul did very well keeping a dignified silence,” he wrote. “One doesn’t have to give explanations or provide excuses or apologise.”

The United States has warned Russia of serious repercussions if it went ahead with the move, raising fears that Moscow and Washington were potentially heading towards their most serious confrontation since 1962.

“We should stand strong and indicate that that is something that crosses a threshold, crosses a red line for the United States of America,” Gen Norton Schwartz told a US Senate hearing called to confirm his appointment as the US Air Force chief of staff.

Gen Schwartz’s comments appeared to have enraged Mr Castro, who accused the United States of imperial Machiavellianism and claimed that Washington was bent on Cuba’s destruction.

So far, the reports of a Russian presence on Cuba remain speculative, with the Kremlin issuing a denial and the White House refusing to comment.

Even so, the speculation is mounting since Izvestia, often used to float controversial Kremlin plans, quoted military sources as saying that the proposal was in retaliation for US plans to build a missile defence shield in central Europe, ostensibly against a nuclear strike by Iran.

yes, I do. In fact the Okinawans gave me around $2,000usd a month to pay for my house. In turn, I put a ton of money back into there economy by shopping off base, going to restraunts off base, doing there tourism things off base (which is the Okinawan main economy BTW), not to mention that money they gave me was givin right back to the Okinawan community. The places to shop and get food on base employed thousands of local civilians (so much in fact it was hard for my American wife to get a job, on an American base) and I could go on and on about my 3 years experience living there...
