OK, I don't get it, Vtec stands for variable timing ....blah blah, but in japan shouldn't it be like choi chong tanga wang? How does it translate over? THe japanese engine say VTEC on the valve cover but why would they make an english acronymn on their ----?

I think they found it necessary to use english words and acronyms on there cars because most of there target base can read and acknowledge that format. European, canadian,american, all the way to the virgin is;ands and puerto rico, its all of a english and somewhat easy to read dialect. There funky symbols were just too confusing.

if you also notice they adopted our number system too. If you watch anime or look at ther food prices they have our number system along with theirs. kinda like how we have english and have spanish next to it. Its prob their second language there

Most japanese people speak at least some english. I fyou have a JDM PS2 you'll notice a lot of the JDM video games have english (ROMANJI) writing. It's like that in a lot of countries. I used to buy German language playboy magazine, and a lot of the advertisments were in straight up english.

yeah its very true that in japan alot of schooling requires english as a second language.
