buk, I could give you a simple explaination of how VTEC works on a Honduh engine, but you'd be mislead. You really have to sift through camshaft theory and how various cams work, headflow and port velocity nonsense, and then think long and hard for the why and how of VTEC. It allows factory engines to have good gas mileage, good emissions, and yet be able to make a blistering 15 second pass at the track... when other gas sippers are stuck in the 17-18's, dog. It isn't all that.... the solid engineering behind Honduh engines is more to blame for the power and robustness of the platform than a sissy second cam profile.

Preferrably in the 428 cid displacement, kthx

You mean changes "at the same psi," which means absolutely nothing. Why do we compare intake manifold pressure to atmospheric pressure?? It's a BS measurement, indicative of nothing worth knowing. At the end of the day, you can drop $$$$ on trying to get "hp per psi," or you can do things simply - brute force induction of airmass, and then dealing with the thermal consequences. Which can be accomplished for less than the price of a VTEC head...

Take off the TurboD16 cap and put on your thinking cap, see if you can tell me why that is. :1

While VTEC heads just sacrifice low end power... which is why stock ITR engines vs equivalent CR LS engines, with the LS running cams that are "inferior" to the ITR's *cough* 404's *cough*, always sees the LS making same or better peak hp and making a ---- ton more power under peak.

VTEC heads are hogged out, lazy flowing piles of **** from the factory. Why wouldn't you want to get rid of anything having to do with VTEC on one? VTEC is just a good idle, who cares about anything like that? I swear, I don't understand you kids today... in the old days, a lot more real men walked the earth, and in those days we matched camshaft to headflow to create both peak as well as broad, usable powerbands without ****** concerns like not having fourteen times the peak power to usable midrange, or good idles.

Ever seen a FE engine beating the goddamn ground - at idle - so hard you were amazed it didn't shatter every window in the car?

But JD kids these days dont like motors that make power below 5500 rpm. Gotta have the vtecccc bahhhhhhh!!

Since it is airmass that matters, and not volumetric ****** efficiency, I should graphs between turbo'd LS and OMG VTECH engines based on peak airmass figures in g/rev. I think that would illustrate my point nicely... the LS would make HUGE power across the band and "the same" peak power as the WTF VTECH equipped (crippled?) engine, whereas the OMG VTECH engine would be all peaky and suck and stuff.

Oddly, turbo compressor maps are also expressed in airmass... maybe I'm on to something here Nah, couldn't be. Never.
