why wait for X rpm for vtec to engage, when you can have it always on? it eliminates that "lag" of no vtec, especially since if it's a race car, it wont be doing anything less than 5K even for launches
i see

Simple get rid of vtechhhhhhhhhh not needed on drag all motor cars. Unless you have a motor that is gonn make 260+ all motor whp look elsewhere. Proably 30 motors ever built thta can actually make power with them. Oh and there a bitch to idle

Higher than that. 500+lift you better have some compression and some wicked port work

Ask Bisi - he sites the inordinately large amount of reciprocating mass and rotational friction found in the VTEC heads, which is why he went F-series. Can you say 400 hp and 289 tq on GAS, son? That hasn't been done on OMG WTF JDM VTECH, not even for a $$$ engine you rebuild after every four trips down the 1/4 mile, and there is a reason for it. Take off the TurboD16 cap and put on your thinking cap, see if you can tell me why that is. :1

While VTEC heads just sacrifice low end power... which is why stock ITR engines vs equivalent CR LS engines, with the LS running cams that are "inferior" to the ITR's *cough* 404's *cough*, always sees the LS making same or better peak hp and making a ---- ton more power under peak.

VTEC heads are hogged out, lazy flowing piles of **** from the factory. Why wouldn't you want to get rid of anything having to do with VTEC on one? VTEC is just a good idle, who cares about anything like that? I swear, I don't understand you kids today... in the old days, a lot more real men walked the earth, and in those days we matched camshaft to headflow to create both peak as well as broad, usable powerbands without ****** concerns like not having fourteen times the peak power to usable midrange, or good idles.

Ever seen a FE engine beating the goddamn ground - at idle - so hard you were amazed it didn't shatter every window in the car?

id rather have a boodted lsvtec then a plain out boosted ls. people see gains all the time by just changing to a vtec head.
