Hmmm, I've got the Viper in my Integra too but don't know for sure if you can use that remote with a different control box. I'd think the frequency signal would be different or else it would be fairly easy for someone else with the same alarm to disarm/arm/unlock/steal your car :-\

If it is even possible to use the box again, you will have to go to a dealer and get another remote made. I would look into the features of the alarm, maybe it is worth it to get a new one.

never heard of a viper c50, most viper numbers are like 550shf, 800shf, 500esp, basically 3 digit number followed by letters.. could be a pretty old system though. find a local DEI dealer and get them to cross reference the alarm model with the remotes (all viper dealers are given a guide book with all the old model numbers). you might be able to order a new remote and have it programmed, if not, you'll have to replace the alarm with a newer one.

look around to see if there is a shock sensor and stuff, otherwise you will need that to. You might also get off cheap if the harness is the same as a newer model, you could just swap it out maybe.

I don;t know, I'd really just toss it and buy a new one. I've found that viper (DEI) makes really shitty products.

They really fucked up Clifford/Avital when Directed acquired them. I just bought a new alarm (Viper, sadly) which was a mid grade alarm that just disgusted me. I was told that they have progressed over the years and that they have put higher quality pats into their products. But sadly they haven't. Skimpy wire gauges, cheap plastic covers, no relays, just plain old ghetto. The worst thing about it tho, is that their high level models use the same harness, and casings.

I figure when spring hits and I have some more money I'm going to invest in another manufactures product.

If you just want to use it for the time being contact DEI 1.800.274.0200, I doubt that they would do much for you without your remote/serial number.
