Default VIN question

Just wanted to know where i can get another duplicate VIN plate. I bought a car that was stripped and the whole interior was gone. So the last owner went to a junk yard and bought new dash board and the whole interior. So now the dash board is from another car. So where can i go to get it duplicated?

you have to have reciepts for the interior and go through a state patrol inspection.

Yup!

If the VIN on the firewall comes back clean, and the dash reciept is legit, they mail the damn thing to you, screws right in place on the dash.

Go to Home Depot, Lowes, or whatever store you have where you live, even Kmart. They sell rivet guns and rivets $20 at most for a gun + rivets

no seriously. the guy bought the dash from HAPrecycling.com and when i bought the car from him. he gave me all the paperworks, service records, and the receipt for the dash. I think i mix the receipt up with other receipts i saved. I have to look for it. But if i cant find it. Will it be ok though. I mean the CHP station can pull the VIN from the dash that i got from the junkyard. It will show up as a VIN from a junk civic. I hate thief myself. My hatch was stolen in front of my garage. So here i go buying another salvaged hatch.
