using diffrent frequencys to vibrate the plate the salt was sitting on. every time it hits an octive the pattern changes. Theres a fourmula for it. Im not going to pretend like i know how to do the math.

yea thats kinda what I was asking.. are they vibrating the plate so it produces a sound frequency? or are they blasting it with a sound frequency that causes it to vibrate? i understood that it was progressively increasing in vibration, as the patterns drew more and more complex.

whether you understand how it works or not, it's pretty cool :y

They are using a frequency that causes the plate to vibrate.

so they just turned the table into a speaker i had the plans for making a plexiglass/lexan table top that would act as a flat panel speaker ill have to see if i can find them again its really not that hard. :6
