Talk to your local DMV, it varies state to state.

Beware most of the title companies out there.. they can only help in some states, and mostly '88 or older cars only.

how long ago did you turn in the lost title form... I got my car registered in WA a months weeks back and it took FOREVER for them to mail me my title, and that was with me having all proper documentation, so maybe give it some more time, but then again i dont know how long you've been waiting up until this point.

juat go to the dmv and tell them that you bought a car and only have the bill of sale. if they cant register it they might be able to tell you who it is registered to.

That sounds about like how it's done here in NC. Claim 1.5 months, it usually takes as long as they feel like keeping you waiting.

that happened on my del sol, i lost the title and it took me about a year to get one, ---- i had to bend rules, plead my case with about 3 or 4 different banks.. it was horrible.. the main reason was because the title had a lien on it and was never released. The the bank that owned the lien was sold a couple of times and renamed a couple of times... POS time that was in my life.
