So the title is in your name with a lein on it from the bank, I am assuming.

You sold it to him for cash, without transfering the title.

I think that you are screwed as far as liability.

If you had at least completed the title transfer in person and he hadn't transfered it, then you would have a case.

How much is left to pay on the car?? A scrap yard will pay you by the lb. for the metal. That can help you recoop some of the cost.

the car owns to whoever's name is on the title No matter what papers you have signed and what not. So your kinda fucked cause the car is your responsibility and your probably going to have to pay the fines. Hopefully your 'friend' will do the right thing and pay for it for you.

But basically I think they can only get you with illegal dumping, towing and storage fees. Its all fines so there's nothing they can really ---- you with.

Explain your situation to the cops and see what they say. Your not in the wrong here so just be nice to the cops and hopefully they'll help you out.

I can't believe there are no salvage yards. The are scrap metal companies around where I live that will pay you per ton. Might check into it

No scrap yards, no junkyards.

I have the title free and clear now. At the time it wasn't payed for.

I don't see how they can prove ---- because if I had the title notarized and handed it over to him, it's out of my hands and if he doesn't transfer the ownership I have no way of knowing or proving anything. That's gay. I'm not about to pay any fines. He made money off it selling parts to his ricer friends so he can pay the -------. From what he told me, the car was towed to a junkyard and is long gone.

Oh well, I guess I'm just going to tell the cops who I sold it to and see what happens.

you're kinda fucked...my mom sold a car and the guy asked if she would leave the registration sticker on so he could drive it home. My mom being the nice lady did this and after a year or so she got all the things in the mail saying there was a warrant out for her arrest for unpaid parking tickets. You believe that ----
