does $140.00 sound expensive for a valve job

so grind the valves and put in new guides? how about the valve seats, those should get reground too. valve jobs aren't hard at all if you have all the tools (the expensive part). it just takes a while do to one.

i was told it would be around 300bucks....or free (plus parts) if i want to be ghetto...do i need to tell you what one i am going with

i cleaned my valves, relapped them, and installed new valve seals for $60 (cost of valve seals and a tube of assembly lube)

140 sounds really cheap for the 3 way valve grind on a 16valve head. Most machine shops charge around 225~350 dollars for something like that. Of course the head is tanked/surfaced and new stem seals are installed as well.

140 is like probably a hack job, using a stone to cut the seats, and a ------- belt sander to surface the head.. ancient machining tools.
