Default vafc owners - some ---- i did

since these ********* that live in my apartments wont stop breaking into my car, and i have to park so far away that i cannot watch it, i dont keep anything valuable in my ride. that includes my vafc, which you see i have modified...

i had some cat5 laying around and got the idea cuz im a network geek. i figured i could make my vafc a "quick release" by using some cat5 cable soldered to the vafc wiring. on the other end i used rj45 jacks which i wired the same way as the cat5. this way, when i want to go somewhere, just plug it in. when i park my car at home, just release it - now these ********* cant steal it anymore! i have had this setup running successfully for a while, but i haven't had time to take pics until recently.

nice job. That is a very cool idea. The AFC doesn't loose any settings when you pull it though??, I have zero first hand experience with them, so that may be a dumb question.

P.S. - You are a network geek. Nice job though.

it doesn't lose any settings, there is a battery inside of it or someshit that keeps them. i guess i could do a writeup if you guys want.

i plan on chipping my spare pm6 when i get more time. actually, i have some ideas involving turboedit, linux, and wine(windows emulator for linux so that i can run turboedit). i plan on making a linux thin client based on knoppix linux so that i can drive around tuning my car, while wardriving at the same time, lol. this way, i dont have to worry about a hard drive getting fucked up, and i can put one of my old desktop pc's to use. im going to use linux instead of windows because i dont need a hard drive, and i want as few processes running as possible. maybe the only thing ill have will be just fluxbox or some REALLY basic gui, and init(startup) scripts for turboedit and kismet. i guess ill rig up a power inverter to go from 12 to 120 volts, and buy a real cheapie lcd display. can you guys say digital display for everything? i know, i could just use my laptop... but i wanna do it the hmt ghetto genius way. i also wanna use a shitty desktop so that i can leave it in the car all the time, and have datalogging always. oh yeah, im going to find or rig up a really small case so that this doesn't take up much room in the trunk. ill have more details on this for you guys when i actually get around to doing it.

lol, i was actually thinking about it :P , but then i decided that a starter killswitch, fuelpump killswitch, and this mod would suffice. if somebody wanted to steal my ride they would have to saw through my steering wheel(got the club), find and enable at least the fuelpump killswitch, push start or find the starter killswitch, rewire the vafc connections to my ecu(had to cut for the vafc), and bring some 240cc injectors and swap them out(otherwise the motor would flood at startup). either that or a chipped ecu to scale down 450's in addition to rewiring, finding the killswitches, and sawing through my steering wheel.

oh yeah, i have two extra alarm horns mounted INSIDE of my car and hidden to give any thief a ------- headache while they disable my alarm and find the killswitches.
