I had a friend that went there and everytime I saw him he wanted to quiz me with stupid questions like "so, do you want your rings gapped or staggerd?". :-\ Then I would come back with something like, "would you run less timing and more boost, or water injection with more timing and more boost, or both?" >:D

My brother went to UTI...he graduated top of his class, they put him through their Mercedes Benz Excellence courses for free and Hot Rod school. Mercedes of Palm Springs CA hired him right out of school. He's 26 now and he makes $130,000 a year. It's a great school not UnTrainedIdiots, idiots talk ---- about ---- they don't know about. If you want to know, call a dealer, they'll tell you that they prefer UTI...But Wyotech is good too.

I work at a dealer not one of our techs went to uti or wyotech, I have one friend who went to wyotech that knows his stuff but he knew his stuff before he went. Pretty much every other person I've seen or worked with that came out of these schools were complete idiots. Your brother must be the exception.

Well he may be the exception, but...also you don't work at a Mercedes dealership...I don't need you to believe me about the 130k but figure he makes 26 dollars an hour and he flags 14-18 hours a day. Whoever here is a tech will know what flag hours are, he works 0 overtime. Also he is a team lead, with 1 trainee, he bonuses on how many hours flagged his team does and gets 1.00 an hour for every hour each person on his team flags (6 people). Also I know that he makes this much for sure because he stopped having to pay Social Security tax for the year when he hit around 90k. That was about June-July, if any of you know about taxes and federal ---- you know that once you hit that mark the government no longer takes SST out of your check and you get an 8.5% bump in pay basically! Anyway I am just trying to help you out and let you know what is possible if your are intellegent and apply yourself at UTI. Thanks (bow)

he gets paid so much because people that buy mercedes dont know ---- about cars so they have to bring it to the dealer everytime and get raped in the ass. i think mercedes rates are like 150-160 an hour.

I call BS. I know someone who worked at Mercedes and they only started him at $45k.

that must be a busy ass dealership to flag 14 to 18 hours a day, what does he specialize in? Also I've never heard of the team stuff but I guess mercedes does it differently
