USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

is it possible to use this as the oil feed? i know it has 2 openings, one going to oil cooler and other being the return from the cooler... but can i jus cap off one of them and use this as the oil feed for my turbo setup? enough pressure to push oil to the turbo? let me kno if this would work please! thx

the golden eagle one will work because it's used as more as a "distribution block" for oil, I don't think the sandwich adapter for an oil cooler idea will work unless you just loop the line back around and throw a T in there going to the turbo, because when it's intended to be used for an oil cooler all the oil will go out one end and will be expected to get returned on the other opening, if nothing goes back into the other opening then nothing goes to your engine and you have a nice lubed up turbo attached to a fucked engine.

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

but that is why i said plug one end and use the second one, the oil would be returning its self through the oil return from the turbo going back down to the oil pan therfore i would have a nice lubbed turbo and well oiled engine correct? if im wrong someone tell me so i dont blow my engine with a bad idea...

Just plug off the other side and it will be fine. Be sure to use a small feed line, -3 is what I prefer..

do you prefer the original way tapping the sensor or doing this way with the sandwich?

the sandwich adapter will not work

http://www.newbieforces.com/files/sa...0no%20work.jpg

as you can see by this diagram drawn by a real life police sketch artist the engine will receive no oil because with the sandwich deal (the one intened for the oil cooler, not the golden eagle and similar one) the oil will just go from pump to turbo and back to pan to have the process repeated, the engine will have no oil pumped to it and will run on hopes and dreams alone. using some type of rig off the pressure sensor hole or the golden eagle type sandwich is the only way to do it unless you only want to have your car running for as long as the stagnant oil will work for it.

kyle, the oil coming out of the adapter is not fed from the oil going back to it, the "in" hole in your diagram is simply a place for the oil to return to from the oil cooler. if you plugged that hole and ran the feed line from the other the oil would be coming from the adapter, to the turbo back into the oilpan and so on and so forth. if there were only a in and an out, why need to exist?

How hard is it to understand that when blocking one hole off you're interrupting the engine's oil supply?

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

I think there may be some confusion between "sandwich" and "remote" adapters.

The remote adapters are made for sending the oil out of one fitting for cooling and filtering, then bring it back in the other fitting to the engine.

Sandwich adapters like the one sold by Golden Eagle are created exactly for the task you are trying to accomplish. The GE adapter even offers both a large and small outlet. One has a 1/8NPT female thread, and the other outlet is an o-ring type outlet in about a -10 size. USe the little outlet for turbo, and the large outlet for VTEC activation.

where can i get one of these eagle fittings for oil feed or where can i get the other fittings to tap the oil sensor? where can i get these fittings and what sizes will i need.. any suggestions? help me out

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

thanks for the clear up craig, I thing we were all just using different terms and not really speaking the same language. if the remote thing is designed for use with an oil cooler you can't just block off one outlet because that's where the engine's oil goes. if the fitting was for use with an oil cooler the system that has been described that can be blocked off on one fitting will be completely retarded because the oil cooler will only be used by some of the oil and not the oil that's going to the engine which equals gay.

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

doesn't the engine get its oil from the oil pan? which is where the turbo will be returning the oil to? yes blocking the "IN" side of it is what i would be doing. its not like the engine will ONLY get its oil from the IN side of the sandwich? so its only supply to the engine would be from the in side after it has ran through an oil cooler? how bout if i do this? run an oil cooler, dont plug it off, i'll use the IN and OUT side, the OUT side will go to my ghetto oil cooler off an old volvo, then back around to the IN side of the "sandwich", then somewhere on the OUTline thats going to the oil cooler i'll add in a little "T" fitting and use that as my oil feed? is that possible?

Just get turner toys for the feed line. Its much easier. Use the golden eagle for the cooler, less ---- to splice and run.

Thanks crxrx7!

We also offer the Golden Eagle products. If you all want to try out the sandwich adapter, We'll get you a good deal.

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

the engine doesn't just magically grap the oil from the pan, the pump picks it up from the pan, sends it to the oil filter and then into the engine, if you blocked off the fitting going back into the adapter for use with an oil cooler your engine would get no oil, but the pan would be doing just great.

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

the golden eagle leaves the oil filter functioning exactly how it normally would, and taps off of the oil that has already gone through the filter and is on its way into the motor, it does not however redirect this oil, it just taps off of it. here, i'll make you a kyle diagram....

so would "T"-ing off the line on my oil cooler do the job?

Re:USING OIL COOLER SANDWICH AS OIL FEED?

just use a tuner toys fitting.
