used sbc performance heads
Long story short, when I head back home in a few months, my old truck that I built years ago, (sbc) mild cam, intake, small carb and some headers....should be mine again. (I havent owned the truck in ......about 7 years)
Bad thing is, when I sold it (to my uncle) it had a blown tranny in it. He swapped it to a 3 speed....tried to drive it, only 7cyl were firing, figured out I bent a valve in it (probably from a high rev when the tranny went)
so, what that means, time for some new heads.
the last time I messed with a 350 was when the internet was barely around...er, well we (my family) didn't even have the internet then.
Where besides ebay can I locate some used heads and maybe a few other things?
The truck, its an old late 80's shortbed C10. Some suspension, wilwoods, maybe a small tub should be in the works. Long term project for sure.

You could scrounge the junkyards and try to find a set of the 906 or 062 casting number Vortec from the 96-00 trucks. Damn good factory casting.
If you are going to buy new heads, then go with a set of Dart Iron Eagles or something similar.
Good Quality SBC heads are getting pretty inexpensive.
As a side note, there are a few other factory castings that are somewhat adequate for mild performance. I can't remember the casting numbers off the top of my head though.
