urgent y0: will the hub/control arm from a 91 crx si work for a 88 civic?
 

I know it's the wrong from but the hybrid doesn't move fast enough and i need to know .

Here is the problem. I can't get the axle nut off of my 88 Civic DX (4dr) and the balljont dropped yesterday and fucked the axle up. (Yes i had the cotter pin in there, the threads were stripped hardcore)

So I'm just going to take the whole control arm/hub off of my civic and replace it with one out of my old 1991 CRx si. is that going to work and will that be a direct bolt on replacement or are they different sizes or anything?

Yes, the control arms/knuckle and everything else from the FRONT END only are pretty much interchangable, you can also use some integra 2nd gen and 3rd gen parts as well.

Only the 88' CRX rear end was different, as the control arms were made with some dissimilar bolt hole patterns.

Why not remove the whole Wheel/Knuckle/Hub/Axle assembly as a unit and take it to a machine shop to break the axle nut. it'd be far cheaper unless you have the parts laying around.

AND PUT THIS IN THE RIGHT FORUM I go from reading about ---- sex to answering a Knuckle question...WTF??

I have the extra parts laying around. so I'm going to just do it like this.

and i already said that i knew it was the wrong from, but the hybrid moves too slow

use a cut off wheel and cut the ------- bolt, you can reuse the axle and everything. :)

I had to use a 8footer the first time I ever cracked the 32mm axle nut, according to all the service records I have the last time it was cracked in 94 when the tranny got serviced

yeah we discussed this in the chat last night, it seams that nathan just wants to do it his own way, which is probly the easiest way........the scammers way :-* J/K
