Upgrades, Performance Gains...

what are some good upgrades, and things you can do to get hp gains for under 100 for each item? :8

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

u forgot pedals...apc steering wheel. that thing u put in the exhaust pipe so it sounds like u have a turbo! thats 50hp right there

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

make sure your muffler is no smaller than 5" in diameter. it's gotta let all that high flowing exhaust of your 1.5L get out!

oh, and get a rope :y

you guys are dicks, everyone knows that a flux capacitor is the best bang for your buck. ::)

:y :y

The really is no power gains in 100.00 upgrades. Unless 1-2hp is a big upgrade to you!!!!

That exaust pipe thing slays me, i want two, i figure if i run y-pipe of my exaust then i can run duals, and two of them pipes.....then i can make some cool video's of me doing drive by's past my local Tim Hortons...now i have a chubbie....

FastLS 11-22-2005 11:13 AM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

Buy two dual tip flow masters and attatch them to your stock exhaust. It will free up insane amounts of power. I think the gain I saw in a video once was like 10-15 horsepower per exhaust tip. It really makes a difference. BTW Dont listen to these ricers. Only a few of them really care about helping you.

TurbodEG 11-22-2005 11:18 AM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

local speed shop told me i could gain 15hp just off an intake! do that. and then if i buy a heat sheild for 50$ from them i gain another 10. thats what they told me. lol dumbasses

ososlohatch 11-22-2005 12:18 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

wow maybe 1-2 hp off heat wrap but unlikely ...... i would kick the owner of that shop in the balls

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

You know now that im done being sarcastic and have reread this question, he did say $100 each part, in theory if he does some yard crawling at 100bucks a pop it woundt take long to get a kit together now would it...? Still, stickers is easier?? hmmm...what would i do??

Reddy 11-22-2005 03:18 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

those little items aren't worth the money. Boost is the only bang for the buck hence why we're all here.

DeleriouS 11-22-2005 03:25 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

i bought a turbo from a saab service shop for $20 ;D i was going to offer $40 but he striaght up said 20. with VERY little shaft play.

what about a
starion FMIC
oil lines
FMIC plumbing
couplers
clamps
uberdata
gauges
gauge pod

there, now u can get ALL of those for under $100

DeleriouS 11-22-2005 03:26 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

u could possible get water methanol injection for under $200, and that could potentially add a lot of hp. :y

yeah on a seriouse note if you think the 2-5 hp pieces are worth it like header exhaust intake and say you spend 500 on five pieces you could make a turbo kit easy with that same cash. and make more power. id say for a stock civic cheap mods would be
hf mani 50 tops
t25 100 tops
pipes/bov from stock turbos 100 tops
injectors 100 tops for some good ones
ecu 135 chiped and basemaped
little time and a little fab work it can be done

hmt seems to be the best bang for the buck to me.

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

maybe a good tune. port and polish your head, turbo, if you have an hf mani, your intake. p and p is free if you do it yourself and will give you a few more ponies

SkunT 11-22-2005 06:30 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

under $100- I would say a K&N and a egay exhaust. you might get 10hp out of it.

or spend $100 and chip your ecu and remap that bitch. you'd get some gains out of it. not much, but youd see a difference.

Actually there is a free mod that allows for much faster movement. And it is....

Stripping your car

Strip it down to the bones then you'll fly for cheap.

HondaTuner 11-22-2005 09:58 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

throw a cheap turbo on the car, 440cc's, fmu, bosch bov, no intercooler :P

IndianRide 11-22-2005 10:22 PM

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

did I just hear fmu I'm dissapointed, $100 a peice at a time, Buy a used aftermarket suspension for your car no ebay ---- but good stuff, buy some good tires, tires make a huge difference in handling and 1/4 mile times no since in power if it can't stick. Make your own intake or buy an ebay one, get a catback exhaust made at a local muffler shop should'nt cost more that $250. get a used nitrous kit. There are actually quite a few things you could do if you look around. You could also look for some nice seats at the local junkyard like some nice crx si ones, I got a set for $34.

Cut off that cat, if you dont mind it smelling a little, might have to get a MIL eliminator if you have emissions testing

Those MIL eliminator kits are a waste of money. I made my MIL elmininators myself for $4.00, saved $90

Re: Upgrades, Performance Gains...

perhaps the hardest upgrade to find its the "TYPE R" hugass windshield sticker, forget about bolt-ons! this is serious cuz you need to balance it and center it very carefuly to finally stick it properly, all this is greatly rewarded you are now the only daily driven type-r honda/acura in the US!!!

and dont forget to free up all that new fresh horsepower!!!
