Unemployment Benefits Question
I'm getting laid off of my job in January. They said I could transfer to another store, but if I do that, my pay will be 1/3 of what it is right now. I was told by a couple people, that unemployment will pay me the difference or a percentage of the difference btwn what I make now and what I would make. Is this true? How does this work and what do I need to do to get this etc? Thanks guys!

Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
don't know, but you have the better part of a month to find a new job.

Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
depends on your state/income/dependents
Ohio will pay 50% of the difference I believe..... |
Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
How about you go and get a job that pays you enough or you get a second job. I dont understand why my tax dollars should be paying your supplimental income.

Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
I went on unemployment when i was 19. Got around half my pay but I went to school rather than back to work. I recommend calling edd and talking to a rep from your state

Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
yeah, I hit up unemployement when I got outta the marine corps. $400 a week.
but its all based on previous income, your state, etc. Like others said, contact a unemployment rep. |
Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
lol my cousin had to go on unemployment for a while... i think he was going on 4 or 5 months of not working, still collecting unemployment and not looking for a new job, and then he got called back in. Must be nice.

Re: Unemployment Benefits Question
thanks guys.
I'm actually going to call them as soon as I get a chance. I might stop by there today after work. I'm not getting laid off until January 15th. I still have a job with the company if I want it, but I'll get a huge pay cut and an extra 20 minutes of driving for it... |
