Underage drinking?

So I was in LaCrosse WI with one of my friends that lives there this weekend, ended up geting an underage drinking ticket, my fine was $222.00 wich is nothing compared to my friends DUI, but still sucks. Have any of you goten underages and can I take a class and get my fine reduced or anything like that?? There goes my wideband o2 for now i guess.

I've gotten 4 underage drinking tickets in Wisconsin from way back. All of them were 1st offenses too :4

Just show up to your court date. The judge will probably offer classes to reduce the fine if it's available.

haha i got one up here in canada a few years ago, we told the cop we didnt have our ID's on us and my one stupid friend pulled out his so the cop wrote all of our tickets under this one guys name... we never paid the tickets and we never heard about it again, i dont know if you will be so lucky tho... its prety sad down there tho that u cant drink till ur 21, but can drive when ur 16 i believe... just retarded, a 2500 lb plus car can do alot more damage than a drunk teenager can, just done mix the two.

yeah, the pig said my court appearance is mandatory, but son of a bitch I go to school at stout wich it like 1:45 mins away. Is there any way I can settle it over the phone and jsut send in my ticket? Thanks for the responses, i'm sure there has been some experience with this sort of thing from members here.

in washington if its a traffic offense, not sure about a manditory court date thought, they give you a option of writing your side of the story and the judge will decided if your guilty or not or if they want to do a plea bargain (like taking a class witch they usually will just drop the ticket if you dont get a simulair offense within a year). but if your giong to fight it the best thing to do is show up to court, plea bargain if you have the option you could probibly write the letter and just let them know why your not showing up and what you want to do. actually thinking back now i had a manditory court date and even though i had a lawyer i still had to show up. Buuuuut because you live farther away you might get the option of doing the letter thing.

well my friend was at school and they had this lock down bullshit back when we were seniors, like drug dogs and all, my friend just left his alcohol sitting in his car and they went by and seen it, just gave him a court date and he went back a couple times and it will prob just be a defferd situation, where if he isnt in trouble with anything for the law beside speeding tickets and nonsense that they will drop it after a certain amount of time, but what would be good on his part, enter a drink class kinda like this program thats called "merit" around here, do it b4 he even goes to court and bring proof that your going and say your trying to better yourself, more then likely youll jus have to finish the program usually a few weeks or some bullshit and if no trouble then your clear to go. sry for your buddies ---- mess. good luck.

I do it, but I don't get caught. Or I haven't been caught yet!

you got lucky.. be fortunate you only had to pay 222.00.. i got a DUI about 2 years ago.. I had 64 hours of community service (so i was off work for a week and a half).. ( i was a trash picker upper in a shitty hilly town)... and i had a 600.00 bail, 300.00 in AA classes.. which i had to attend for 2 months.. every tuesday and thursday.. and to top it off.. i wrecked my car when i was drunk.. So my insurance cancelled me.. and i am high risk now, so i have to pay high high high top dollar insurance for the next 3 years.. so basically no full coverage insurance which means no car loans.. so i have to drive my 88' silverado which is paid off for the next 3 years before i can have anything decent at all.. So be fortunate son.. AND DONT DRINK AND DRIVE AND WRECK! lol

you can always try going to the courthouse (prior to court appearance) and trying to work out a deal with the prosecutor. I've done that a few times with tickets.
