We got this sittin in the break room of the Volvo program i'm in at school. I'm almost sure its off a twin-turbo setup off the 2001/02ish S80
I took a picture of it next to a pack of cigarettes (100's)
In person... this thing is smaller than the pics make it look.

HOW ------ rediculous is this thing?

The ihi probe turbo is smaller than a t25 and works great on turbo d's. Full spool by 2500 and just a blast to drive

Re: u guys thought t25's were small??????

im in no way sayin it isn't. I didn't even know ihi's were that small me = :1

wouldn't full boost by 2500 almost make 1st or 2nd gears almost useless on a FWD?

I figured some of the HMT guys would get a kick out of this thing cuz most of you guys are throwing Holset's on d-series. And most of the ppl on here are good fans of big turbos

There is about 1000+junkyard ihi/t25 turbo kits of a result of this site and how it started

The vitara build has allowed people to use bigger turbo's like the holset which really is pretty new and only a hand full of people have them.

No full boost at low rpm makes it a blast. Good tires and alignment and your off to the races.

Re: u guys thought t25's were small??????

i supposed u r 100% correct. HMT has gotta be the most entertaining forum i've ever read on. The ghetto-ass junk yard turbo setups inspired me to learn to read LOL. I was lurking and reading on HMT for about a year and a half before i even made my first post. And i'm still learning

I'm pretty sure the S80 snails are even smaller then the rhb5's. I ran a rhb5 on my first setup and the S80's turbo is even smaller then that. YOu can find them on ebay everyday but being nothing is older then 10 years old and it's from a Volvo it's not super cheap. Though still somewhat cheap if you don't want to order something from Garrett. Aren't the snails on the Mitsu 3000GT VR4's really small also?

when i go back to school, i'll get on the computer and see if i can find a Volvo P/N for u.... they'd probably be hit or miss from a j-yard. That turbo that i posted is fucked to all hell. Has the worst shaftplay i've personally seen on a turbo. Its used as a display tool to show to students. I was the only 1 that was checking shaft play when it got passed around the room. Everyone else was just spinning it. Some were just looking at it. Someone actually dropped it and i just cracked the ---- up

Here's a turbo I saw today. 3" compressor outlet and 6" V-band down pipe.

I posted one up thats in Forced induction area that was MUCH smaller, IHI RHB3. its got a 3 bolt flange and is getting installed on a ATV for my brother. you can barely fit your thumb into the intake inlet lol.
