I wonder if you can take out the circuitry and hook it up to a 9 volt without ftying anything and will it still work, Might make a bigger shock.

That might make it charge faster, but the capacitor is what makes the magic. Put a bigger capacitor or an extra one in it and then you're in business.

Nope. The cap discharges at a fixed voltage. Might charge faster if you used a 9v though.

edit: damn you dr boost. you beat me to it.

OMG a charged capacitor. I used to have fun with these at work at a photocenter. I would stick them out on the floor and watch my peers clean up and shock themselves. Did you see that bull and taser video... all that was was a giant capacitor... notice how it ran out of power and the bull got right up.... PS. Another sick trick is to put a quarter on a 9 volt. It will get really hot. Then flick it and watch people try to pick it up. Or just lick the 9V While your at it bend a paperclip into a U and stick it into a socket and you will definetly r0x0r

So wait, BIgger capacitor, 9V battery, and you get a bigger shock, nice, so what happens if you use this method with lets say 3 big capacitors, and 3 9V batteries each charges its own capacitor.

What kind though? I would just get one big one powered by 2-3 9V batteries, I have some electronic background but now when it comes to building weapons.

I'm going to go get a disposable camera this week and then hit up the electronics store to see what I can come up with.
