i just went to that site for the first time, never have i seen the word "greddy" on a site so many times. "i have a greddy boost gauge and how do i install it" "how does a greddy turbo kit work on a civic EX".....

Re:TURBOD16.COM

I have been a member over there for a long time. I have been trying to talk all of them away from the greddy kits, but I think they like the greddy kits too much. I always rip on pre fab kits and say how much better building your own kit would be, but I dont think any of them really listen (or maybe they just don't say anything cause they know I am right ;)). One of the mods called me out and I ended up writing a nice little article (thanks to HMT of course) about building your own kit instead of wasting money of pre fab kits and it's now in the FAQ lol.

Re:TURBOD16.COM

Most of those guys don't know how to hold a wrench, and that's why they buy kit, everything is there and you don't have to fabricate or make any parts and ----. Everything is given to them. But I don't know how someone that can't even change their oil would want to make or install a turbo kit.

i get in a lot of trouble there. i'm just really asily annoyed by those people. they have a few guys over there who are their god's (:cough:sleepercivic:cough:), anything they say goes, and anyone who says otherwise is looked heavily down upon

Well, I guess I'll chime in on this. I'm from turbod16.com, I'm the admin over there. I'm not sure why everyone is so worked up. I do understand that one of my moderators has been talking some smack, so I appologize for that. I think there are some big heads on both sides, but I want to make it perfectly clear that I in no way condone smack talk toward this forum or any other forum. I understand it's easy to get worked up when there are "sides" like this, but let's be adult about this. We are both here to share knowledge. If you have any beef with my members, let me know so I can take car e of it. Good day.

Welcome to HMT Pollito, my users are very biased on "Bolt on kits" so, basically you will have members that bump heads. HMT was down last week and few people headed over to Turbod16, and checked it out. I think its great there is another website similar to ours, so I had to go check it out myself. I was a bit shocked, I didnt quite feel the warm welcome on your website.

Remember, your moderators represent your website..

Jeff

Wow, funny how history repeats itself. I had this same conversion with Jeff (remember that dark day long ago Jeff?), and looking back, it's just all in how you personally view the boards as a whole.

If you go in with the attitude that "this place sucks" then you'll only find the faults. If you go in willing to give the place a chance, then you will allow yourself to see the good that keeps the others, who frequent the place, there.

The bototm line is, go where you have fun, because you can get information about TurboEDIT on http://www.TurboEDIT.org, so it doesn't matter. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Re:TURBOD16.COM

as a member of both sites I can say that I get somehting out of each of them. The way I see it, once a turbo is on (whether it be custom fabbed or from a kit) we all still have the same concerns, questions, failures and triumphs. Both sites have something to bring to the table, and I think that withoug one the other one would become overloaded with topics and posts. A question about a greddy kit here would go over about as well as a question about custom fabbing an adaptor plate so you can keep your AC intact over on the other site. By having both sites, people of different capabilities and knowledge can learn and discuss boosting their cars.
As for people saying that one site sucks etc. etc. Just don't go to the other site. Worst case scenario you check out the current posts, and if nothing appeals to you then you leave.

just my .02

True, but if you with experience on working on a turboed car give advice and a guy that brings his car to the shop tells you otherwise is just dumb.

Probably because he is using a custom setup. Not everyone on turbod16 uses greddy, apexi, drag, etc. And many who do use parts from those kits, only use half of the parts provided as a starting part and change the rest for a more robust solution - which makes sense if you get the kit cheap enough. One person at that forum went off the deep end (more than once), but I'd hate to think that everyone views him as representing the forum as a whole. He doesn't. It is sad how many posts there are getting to be here about *insert forum* sucks this and sucks that. I just don't get the heated competition. Seems that the aim everywhere should be to ------ tuner knowledge. I also like both sites (and HT too - gahhh!) for their individual merits. Peace.
