turbo vs nitrous (very upsetting)

Just for shits and giggles i hooked up a 75-shot of zex to see what it was like in comparrison to turbo on my car. Now I fully understand that my Y8 was meant to be turbo. The nitrous was great, such a rush, but nothing compared to turbo. Still got beat by my best friends B16A hatch, but only by inches this time. When I put the turbo back on I know I will win by bus lengths. :) Need to find an FMU SOOOOOON! Has anyone else tried nitrous and turbo both at different times and can share views? Just something to talk about...

i have been in cars both with NOS and a turbo. The NOS is fun just for a few secs but with the turbo the power was always there. I rather have the power there always then just a few secs of it.

i had a zex 75 shot on my built d16a6 i loved it i would break em loose in second when i hit it. i sold it in favor of turbo though. nitrous gets expensive when u are trigger happy like me

when you guys ran nitrious, was it full throttle only?

you still have to arm it, but then it only shoots when at WOT.... right?

Re:turbo vs nitrous (very upsetting)

I thought it had to come on after a certain rpm otherwise it wouldn't be good for the motor. So you would use a throttle activated switch and an rpm switch so it only comes on at WOT and, say 2500 rpm. ???

i don't know about rice burners, but big v8s = shoot nos at full throttle no matter where the rpms are at.

Re:turbo vs nitrous (very upsetting)

I use a edlebrock nitrous system jetted at ~60 hp and a MSD window switch from 3200-6200 on my car (so it only works at WOT between 3200-6200 rpms). It is fun to run them both, because once the nitrous kicks in, the turbo spools a lot faster, and things tend to fly by :)

do you hook it up just like you would without turbo, just drill it into your intake pipe before the tb?

well i resent the button pusher comment, i armed it with a toggle and the zex kit opens the solinoid when you mat it. i never shot below 3000....it was fasst

i ran a wet spray with a microswitch (safest way).all i had to do was turn the power on and floor it.i love nitrous and i recomend it to anyone with a novice knowledge of there engine.but i pay $38 a fill up and i just got tired of paying for my kit over and over again, a turbo will be a lot more interesting and easier to tune.

i held the throttle switch in my hand. i had more fun when the system was gone but i left the switch in. it made them feel better when they knew they lost to nos hah
