Re:turbo or supercharger

turbo!More versatility, eficient top end, cheaper, boost is easily adjusted, superchargers consume power......and im turbo biased.Im not verry fond of superchargers

Re:turbo or supercharger

HKS GT28 Ball bearing turbo running 18 psi if your doing internals. 21 psi on track days. You gonna need to beef up your drivetrain too. Can I borrow some of your loot?

Re:turbo or supercharger

Build the motor, get some good fuel management, and peice together a turbo kit. You could swap a b-series motor in and do the same thing.

Re:turbo or supercharger

Dump the honda, and put money into the GN.

if i had 5k id get a twin cam. i mean, im a single cam fan, but why not get a twin cam if you had 5k.

better to make a big motor do big things than a small motor.

Well I think it's better to build a small motor an doo great things.

Specifics, I'm not sure, but build the SOHC and turbo it. You have more potential with a turbo. If at any point the turbo you chose is just not working for you, you can always upgrade and keep most of your setup, just add to it. On the Supercharger you just get what you get. I don't know, I don't like superchargers, I'm all about the turbos

your friend is a tool. wasted money putting a 86-87 ??? ZC?? i doubt it's a real ZC, cuz they didnt make them until 88 i thought? o well..

5k.. well, what civic is this? If it's a EX, ,pull the motor and get it sleeved, then get some good pistons / rods. new gaskets and pumps and put her back together.
if its not a EX(or Si) then get a b18b motor and hondata ecu, build that and run 15psi.

Re:turbo or supercharger

5000 will get you into 10's even with ur sohc if its built right.. aim for 400whp and try and get all of it to the wheels. Have ur block sleeved by darton with a closed deck for extra strength... and get some other nice internals of ur choice... might i suggest ferrea valves and the right fuel management. Youll be on your way to 400 easy with a big turbo. superchargers dont lag.... me likes lag

Re:turbo or supercharger

yup big t3/t4 sleeves, pistons/rods, all that good stuff. Get a nice head job, like extrude honed, stainless or Ti valves, big cam, hondata, 3" exhaust, with enough boost, you can run 300 hp all day, just do it right...

buy bigger brakes to, your cars aren't worth much if you are dead.
