Turbo setup complete and tuned

I probably make more, but I had the dyno guy rev only to 7k on the stock tach. http://home.earthlink.net/~ricerocke...-p150/dyno.jpg 1999 DX hatchback Stock y7 block, stock y8 head, y8 intake mani, z6 tranny T3 .60 / .48 Spoolin AC log, AC 2.5" dp, closed-loop dump tube Tial 38mm wg 1g dsm bov Stealthmode oil feed/return 2.5" ic piping CCA 6" fmic dsm 450's Walbro 255lph Joe P. mbc GE vac mani 2.5" exhaust, carsound cat, 22" resonator, magnaflow oval ACT XTSS clutch ARP head studs p28 w/ crome Street tuned by David Lee http://home.earthlink.net/~ricerocke...urbo%20001.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~ricerocke...urbo%20004.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~ricerocke...urbo%20011.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~ricerocke...urbo%20024.jpg |
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
I told you my ass dyno was broken, hahaha. I was guessing 180-190ish.
Glad you made your goal. I'm a bit supprised the TQ isnt dumping as much as the fueling said it was; wierd. You should put up some pics of your car and setup. It was looking pretty good. |
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
Yeah I will post pics when I get the car nice and cleaned up. Someone over at TurboD16 said that the a/f ratio looked a little lean at some points. Does it to you? And I forget what rev limiter you set it at? It looks like I make a bit more power if I reved it to the stock limiter which is 7200 I believe.
|
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
Not lean at all. My exp. w/ end-of-pipe dynojet sniffers is that they read about .75-1.0 lean vs a DP placed WB.
Considering the loading of the car vs the street, I assure you that you are mid 11's all the way through, and smidge richer through a 4th gear pull. Ive got a nice little excel graph that I did w/ my car when it was on a dynojet that shows both the A/F and rpm diff. of a DP mounted WB vs Dynojet sniffer. Im a little suprised though that there is a slight bump in the A/F at 4700 and 5700, I had it spot on when we were on the street. :-\ Your boost holding steady? |
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
Boost is holding steady. And yeah those two spots were what the guy was referring to.

Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
I guess I posted in the wrong section. Maybe someone can move it into General Discussion? Thanks

Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
careful dave lee D tunes can cause perminate damage ;)
haha |
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
^^^ most guys dont request 8500 revlimits on their D's, then use them, hahahaha
|
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
Strike up another one for dave. I will be waiting for the piston pics >:D
Thats awsome for a D. sounds like your goal was 200 and dave got you above and beyond that. ;) Great job dave. NOW i just need 375 out of my POS with 750's Even if we have to go to 24psi like steve. |
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
No piston pics from this car Donovan, I have an engine mounted stethoscope now >:D, thanks to Steve.
|
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned

A few pics up. I have 30 total, but they are mostly the same stuff over and over.

Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
Ripped through 1st and 2nd earlier after work. Got some mad wheel hop throughout 1st and some of 2nd. How can I reduce or even eliminate this? I have Kumho Ecsta SPT's @ 32psi, Koni Yellow adjustible shocks, H&R Sport springs. Would motor mount inserts do the trick? Don't want to have to get traction bars or anything expensive.
|
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
MM inserts will help. I have them but dave can still make the car hop.
|
Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
where in the ---- is your charge piping going. post up a pic of that riffraff.

Re: Turbo setup complete and tuned
The piping routs the way integras route their piping which is in front of the tranny. That funny looking bend up there is from the turbo to the filter.
