turbo problems
 
well i wanted to start the 1.5 crx up to see if all the seals were good and not leaking before i started working on the charge pipes after a minute smoke was pouring out of the exhaust took downpipe off oil was dripping out so off to the j-yard i went 6 hours later i return with mits te04 turbo off a dodge spirit same bolt pattern as lebaron turbo i would half to reconstruct another downpipe to make it work hooked it up first and started it up it was pouring oil out of downpipe to talk about luck so putting every thing stock for little while but i need to no where i can get a rebuild kit for the t 4 and how much they roughly run any info will be appreciated

dude my turbo puked oil for about 5 minutes, it might be fine. Try putting a little valve on the oil feed to limit the pressure

if by chance you do go for another turbo,try to find a 14b(td05h) with no shaft play,its a great turbo and will support up to 250-275hp (depending on the application)
http://www.dsmtrader.com see them on there alot for around $100-$200 you might wanna check ebay aswell,good luck!

man i never thought to try that . thats a good idea it might have just had to much preassure to it . i wish i would have checked for replys before i took every thing off i will try that after a put every thing back on in a few weeks . going to take break from working on it since it pissed me off the first time around.but i'm going to try that because that good chance what it is .thanx for the info

Used turbos are tricky. But since everybody on here, including myself, uses them we have to just deal with it. Dont get pissed off! I spent ever a thousand dollars on my setup and after a weekend of bliss, my turbo died. Its still sitting in my garage waiting for parts to come in so I can run a new setup. ---- happens and at least you can learn from the experience so the next time something does go wrong you will know what to do.
