the intake is pretty gay but its the best i can come up with for now....i did this for a project in my engineering class. if i have more time to do better detail i will update pics.

i kno, i kno....no BOV....i didnt have time to create one before the project was due so i couldnt finish it....my teacher doesnt know the difference...lol ::)

Good effort. Did you just make random bends or did you measure you're car so this exact kit will fit in?

I've done some before when I'm bored at work, or when I just want a little break. The one's I've done are random bends, but somewhat realistic. Not too bad for a beginner, but mine look better :P :-* :-*, of course I've been doing CAD now for almost 8 years :S :S

Not bad at all. When i was in HS i was taking classes at the tech college we were given projects we had to design w/CAD and build.

I use Inventor All Day Everyday, and never have done that. Looks alright, but it really doesn't look like a turbo that much.

Re: Turbo Kit I Made Using AutoCAD Inventor!!!

I think it really looks like a turbo, it just doesn't have a center section ;)

Hey sweet inventor skills man, can you PM me and explain how to do the bends in the pipe and how you did the snail? thanks.

Here is what I made a while ago. guns kick ass.

Re: Turbo Kit I Made Using AutoCAD Inventor!!!

all the pipes are 2.5 in, and the turbo was really hard to do....didnt come out how i wanted but it works....the measurements arnt an exact fit for my car, they are just how i would imagine it in my head....looks like it would fit tho...hopefully i get an A in this. this is my first semester using this program so im hopeing next semester i will be able to make major improvements.

Haha, well you can go right ahead if you can get it through customs, I call dibs and will give you $200 US for it, provided that it is the real deal and not the USA remade ---- that shoots the little 5.54mm rounds, so if it stores 30 7.62 nato rounds ;) by all means, please bring me one, cash in hand, I have the perfect wall I'm gonna hang it on :P

But lets get back on topic now.

Draw a box using polyline (or regular line and convert to region) and then mess around with the extrude command, then read the help tutorial for setting UPC and limits, its easier than you think, all you need to remember is what the commands do and its pretty much all in the help menu, so if you really want to learn autodesk products there is no excuse not to, you can also get autocad for dummies, the rest is up to your imagination.

And guys, dont mistake autocad for inventor, they are both made by autodesk but are completely different programs.

Re: Turbo Kit I Made Using AutoCAD Inventor!!!

Martin,

Make a sketch of the center line of you bend, so 1 quadrent of the circle. Like so
http://www2.propichosting.com/Images/500802/26.JPG
Exit Sketch, Make a new sketch using the end point of you arc and put 2 circles for your pipe diameter.
http://www2.propichosting.com/Images/500802/27.JPG
Exit Sketch and use the Sweep Tool, Select you Profile (2 Circles) and your Path (1/4 Circle)
http://www2.propichosting.com/Images/500802/28.JPG
Hit OK and Voila. Simple.
http://www2.propichosting.com/Images/500802/29.JPG
I've made manifolds and ---- using Dimensions from Mcmastercarr tech sheets found on their website.

love seeing this kinda stuff. looks like you put some time into it. you should do manifolds like the one josh did.

bumblezc 01-19-2006 02:11 PM

Re: Turbo Kit I Made Using AutoCAD Inventor!!!

I was going to build that manifold for me, but I opting for a sidewinder now I think.

I used to get bored at nights when I was in school. I have Wheels with Big Brake Kits, Ram Horns, Shortys, a whole bunch of crap drawn.

That Manifold was done in Solidworks, But I run Inventor now because of work.

I went to school in yakima(Davis H.S., back then known as yakima h.s.) the drafting classroom there is one of the best in washington(software wise) according to the teacher. Drafting competitions are held annually at Davis, and even students from WSU come over to use the computer lab, since its better than their own.

Hey Josh, thanks man, hey when you say make a new sketch do you mean exit the drawing grid and start a new sketch in model space? I just dont know how you had your XYZ set, and how do you set it in inventor anyway?
