Turbo Honda Bike

I was inspired by the front page so I welded a junk T3 I had lying around onto my 1981 Honda Passport C-70.... will be doing PVC charge pipes, and then I need to figure out how to do a blow through carb... the exhaust on the bike is cut in half and I welded on a resonator from my old civic, then welded the turbo right to the resonator... I hope I can get these pics to work.

I don't mean to discourage you but you'll be lucky to see 1 psi out of that setup. A 70cc engine just isn't big enough for a T3.

I like your idea though :D

AHAHAHa! That isn't going to spool at all! The stock T3 turbine wheel is way too large for your aplication. You'll need an even smaller turbine wheel to get it to spool there. I would say GT17 or RHB3. You could try a T2/T3 (T28) with a really small T2 turbine wheel too. I has a few tiny turbos I'll sell dirt cheap.

Yeh this is probably the only time I would say get a smaller turbo , way smaller :1

this will not work.

Re: Turbo Honda Bike

I know i need one of those tiny fourwheeler/bike turbos but I dont care, the bike was a freebie and the turbo was too, I guess this project will mostly be for looks. I think it's hilarius to see a turbo hanging off a scooter but then again my family thinks Ima :1 suprisingly the impellar spins with wot...

HMTguy 07-10-2008 10:11 AM

Re: Turbo Honda Bike

Just because it spins doesn't mean it's gonna do anything

That's pretty cool. I'd rock that, with a helmet and knee/wrist pads of course.

Re: Turbo Honda Bike

why not swap your free t3 for a smaller turbo? A c90 would be deadly on boost, they're wheelie monsters.

T3 was junk, consisted of terrible shaft play, bolts broke off in almost every hole in hotside, and now has the oil return, wastegate hole, and flange welded on. I have my friend's welder and I've been bored so this was a direct result of bordom and the excitement I get from playing with a turbo. Nismosans (newb here) used to take turbo's into our shop (College Auto body Class) and spool them up with an airgun on the shops air... Used to drive the instructor crazy cuz they get pretty loud indoors. Used to piss off the kids with foxbody mustangs too.

My top speed used to be 45mph and now when im in 3rd, anything over 35mph it just starts sputtering. I think I need to find out how to make the carb blow through cuz I might be making 1psi or 2

no oil lines, just welded the return shut and I just put a lil oil in the feed hole now and then... the turbo doesnt get hot just warm so I just put a lil oil in to lube it ;D I used some plastic pond hose to route the air to the carb. I still havnt bought anything for this yet, everything used I had around the shed. No update pics yet or video, raining all day.

Re: Turbo Honda Bike

if its sealed, that turbo WILL cook that oil eventually :1 but whatever, get it boosting however ya need to :8 you need a boost-gauge NOW

hahaha thats some funny ---- man....i know just how you feel (bordem).......i cracked my stock header and made a ghetto log manifold to replace it. you know the ones made from iron plumbing parts..... :8 :8 :8

in reference to blowing air through turbos, yeah it was childish, but at least it suckered people into buying said turbos....... :y

Re: Turbo Honda Bike

well the turbo was a big failure, it ran like ---- and wasnt as fast at all so I diconnected the piping. after the pipes were off it ran better but everytime id pull a wheelie the turbo would scrape the ground... so tonight i cut the thing back off and pulled the baffle out of the resignator so its 10x louder and runs better then ever.
