Econo-Box

So my stepdad wants to beef up the 3500 and get a little more MPG out of it. I was thinking 4", Intake Plug and maybe some sort of air intake along with a decent tune.

Anybody got any suggestions or can offer up any good forums or sites?

my friend had a stock 97 ford powerstroke and then another buddy had the same truck but with some huge *** exaust 6"? and whatever they have to controll the ecu. and he completly pwned my friend and his truck sounded sweet. hear the turbo and exaust note a lot better then stock. so i would start with that. exactly what your already thinking. i would look up a desiel forum they would probibly have tons of ---- you would want to read.

I've heard alot of good things about the bullydog chip as far as power increase goes. that, and exhaust/intake/charge pipe upgrade should up the MPG, if he can keep his foot out of it.

What brand and year are the truck? What does he use the truck for mosetly? What the truck is used for can determine the chip/intake... ect....

They make intake tubes, I believe AFE calls them torque tubes that make the intake flow more with out having an open filter(which makes it quieter) Not eveyone wants a louder diesel.

5inch exhaust is just a waste of money, unless you start changine turbos and stuff like that the 4inch exhuast will do the trick, and cost less.

I would suggest looking at a Edge Chip with the attitude monitor.
