looks good, but I hope that silicone hose right out of the turbo doesnt go boom! using silicone to make bends like that seems to be a big problem.

It's weird how you went from the TB to the right side of the FMIC, then from the Turbo to the other side, long charge pipes. Looks different, but neverhteless, looks good. A lot of chrome too. good job ;) ;)

Re:turbo d16a9..few pics

I´ll try to explain ( bad english) The charge pipes are displayed like this because there wasnt other way to place the IC (Its from a Iveco comercial truck) and we didnt want to spend more € so the finish look became like this..but it works ok..i think ::) ;D
I have to turbo edit it now to get some real results :P

I have noticed that people who use silicone hose, use it to connect charge pipes, not to use it make bends. especially right out of the turbo! :o I personally cant speak for it but from what everyone else has said....

Just thought I would put my $.02 in.
other than that, it looks good. alot of chrome, but it looks nice.

I agree on the charge pipes. Doesn't look all to efficient. Nice n shiney tho.

What'd you do to the D16A9 to keep it from blowing? You know the a9 bottom end is as strong as a wet paper towel.

is that an HF manifold with a crome cover?

L_S_i 06-14-2004 08:56 AM

Re:turbo d16a9..few pics

What did we do? We run just some mile on it..maybe that´s why it didnt blow yet..hehe... and we´re runing 8 psi´s.
The manifod its from a d15b2 with his cover and we chromed it.

No problem man, it just looks different, maybe it'll affect performance a little, but I doubt you would see the difference.

Re:turbo d16a9..few pics

yeah I think it will a litlle but maybe later I´ll swap the IC and the charge pipes. But now my priority is to get a new engine map because the car isn´t running well. Its the only thing missing compared to almost everyone of you guys. Maybe someone could give me a boost map to try in my car? ;D ::)

My friend's turbo B16 warped the head when he put a big front mount in front of his radiator. Be careful with that.

What front lip is that?

Re:turbo d16a9..few pics

Its a full fiber front bumper from a crx. It was submit for some little adaptions but it fits nice. The sideskirts are from a renault clio.

Re:turbo d16a9..few pics

I have a few ZC TE maps...let me know...what turbo are you running on it?
I got one slightly tuned with a WB02 using a escort cossworth T3.
Looks good...a bit too much bling for me.
The D16A9 bottom end is stronger then the other SOHC bottom ends out their 8 psi isn't much. I would keep it to 10 psi to keepit safe....but I never did...I rape all my setups...never blown an engine yet ;D. Maybe cause the longest I had them turboed was 3 month's, cause either something else broke or got damaged like wheel bearings or some stupid lady wrecked my car.

hehe. I think I would kill her :P
I´m running a TD04 from a BMW 525 tds(diesel), obd0, 460 cc´s injectors and a zex fuel pump. I also have a missing link in my map sensor. It would be nice to try some of your maps at least just to know were to start. Thanks a lot man.

Re:turbo d16a9..few pics

You would have to get rid of the missing link if you're going to chip your ecu for boost.
