---- it, can't get any of these pics to work, so click here to see one: By the way, its a shitty pic.http://www.funkyproductions.net/labs...Untitled-1.jpg
Well, i just wanted to see if anyone had any experience w/them cause i just bought one. Original price was 850$ but I got the crack head down to 370. It has a toasted clutch (which was recently replaced). I drove it like 40 miles on an absolutely non existent clutch (would not stall if it was engaged fully) to my buddies (best guy friend) and he said he was gonna buy it from me and kept insisting that i sell it to him, so we did the clutch there and i told him its all his. Well, he ended up saying he wasn't gonna buy it. So i'm stuck with this car... i need a winter beater, but ----, this car need a window, has no back brakes whatsoever (there is only i rotor, no calipers), some interior work, and needs probably a whole driver side door, and a headlight. The body has rust in tons of places... What i am basically asking, if this car is worth it, or should i just salvage the engine, tranny, and the posi rear end, or try to sell this as a whole. I know it is a ford, and I had a ford that fucked me big time, (engine went, tranny went, air ride went, brakes fucked themselves, and a lot more, oh, it was a 92 continental) but I wanted to ---- around with a 2.3 turbo ever since i seen a link on this site about a guy w/ one and a stang. The engine runs fine, except i think it needs an oil pan gasket and i'm sure it has a vac leak somewhere cause it ideals at like 1300rpms. Any and all options are welcome.
Thanks

dan

yeah, checked with turboford.org... and they have all the info i need, plus tons, tons more about the car, but, they love their t-birds and merkurs and svo's, and they really don't say too many bad things about them. So i wanted a perspective of someone like me with honda and other turbo experiance and try to see if this car is worth it.

For $370...the engine alone is worth it to some. I got my engine for $300.

In the paper I see them go for $1000+ and I saw one today on Ebay(an 84/85), with a Buy It Now price of $475.

I had an 87 turbo coupe for about two months. Everytime I drove it something would break, the trans, alternator, fuel pump, head light switch, catconverter, brakes, battery, power everything quit more times than I can remember. It was the worst pieced of crap I ever owned. The realy bad part was this was a low mileage garage kept cream puff. Yours sounds like a parts car. I say junk it. Save the turbo, sell the injectors, rear, trans and the exhaust manifold if its not cracked. They aren't worth anything, I had to give mine away almost.

yeah, i was afraid of that. I really do not know anyone who has had good luck with a ford, well, except their full sized pick-ups and some ancient rides. And i knew this motor and tranny is worth what i paid for the car. ----... in my opinion, these cars, escpeically the ones with the nostrils/air scoop thingies cut into the hood, are sweet looking... But i do not have the money or time to do this ----... But then again, i'm about to start a new job at an autoparts store and get 20% off of all merciendise(even have empoyee discount days where i can get 35% off even on ordered mercandise... new gauges, 6-btm, basically anything they can get for their suppliers and what not) except oil and other lil things... Hmmm..... ----... i really wanted to play around with this car and need a beater, especailly since my rex is out of service, and i smashed my mom's car and totaled my civic.... ---- ---- ----... time to get my linclon running! I also hate the fact that i spent all day puting in a new fucken clutch and now i would have to junk it! I should just scrounge up 600$ and go and buy a 4-door ef civic that i seen for sale ? any more opions
thanks for any and all reading/posting!
