turbo charging a malibu

this question is for jeff the dude with the turbo sunfire. how much would you charge to make the same turbo kit for my malibu it has the same 2.4lt engine as the sunfire. all i need the whole kit minus the turbo. i plan to get a t3/t4 hybred turbo. or if you can send me instructions on how to make everything. i plan to buy forged pistions and connecting rods so i can boost the car to 15 psi and a 50shot of nos. as you can tell i really dont like to lose. thanks any info is helpful.

you can't turbo that thing. I heard it has EMF chip that limits the amount of air flow through the engine and will cause a total lock up via the ignition.

Dats what Im talking about! the stupid EMF chip I hate that sh!t I came across it like 3 freaken times on 4 free malibu's. I knew something was up with that chip.

See the thing is no one ever freaken turbos the malibu so no ones knows about this stupid thing! Damn it! When I figure out more I'll tell u... I'm still trying to read it on the internet!

If you're referring to me it's Jon....

Not trying to be an ass but this homemadeturbo.com... not willyoumakemykitforme.com You will learn far more by doing this yourself than by having someone else do it for you.

I wouldn't suggest starting off with all that....turbo the engine the way it is, push about 8 psi with adequate fuel mods and then after you blow it up or become comfortable with you're setup...build an engine.

I made a post a long time ago on everything I did https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...87638#msg87638

I did a lot since then, including a different turbo and upgraded the fuel setup some. An fmu will get you to 10psi, i'd also use 35# ford injectors from a mid-late 80's 2.3 ford turbo car, an adjustable accel fuel pressure regualor (made for a corvette) to turn down the base pressure for compensation of the larger injectors and a larger in tank fuel pump. My air fuels looked really good with that setup.

I'm actually selling my whole turbo setup, gauges, charge pipes, manifold, turbo, fuel mods...everything. But someone has already agreed to purchase it and should be buying it next month, sorry.

Re:turbo charging a malibu

No, can't say that I have.... Then again I've never played with a malibu. The engines are the same, i would think the PCM's have to be almost identical too but there could be something there.

I used a check valve on the map sensor so it bled off the boost, some map's see positive pressure and freak out. Although I've never seen that issue with a 2.4, it seems to be the map on the 2.2 O/C that freaks out.

What does the EMF chip control on that vehicle? and how is it seeing too much air...per the map sensor? If thats the case than a checkvalve should solve the problem.
