Turbine welding,
 

HI Guys I am newly joined to this site, I have a pair of Volvo KKK24 turbo's and both are cracked in the turbine where it meets the wastegate flap seat, does anyone know where i could get these rewelded as i want to use one of them on my current car, most places say that they are just fit for the bin, but i have found one place in Finland that will gaurantee a repair for 12 months, but i was wanting something nearer to home,

One is a hairline crack and one is a slightly larger crack, both in roughly the same place,

So wait, are we talking about the exhaust housing, or are we talking about the wheel, a turbine is a powerplant, not really a part of a turbo, is it on the exhaust housing around the flapper?

HI Ryan yes the exhaust side of the turbo, it is cracks from inside to the wastegate seat, it must be a common fault on these, as i know of 4 turbos that have been replaced because of these same cracks,

1g dsm 14b turbos do that all the time. i would just leave it be and run it. you will be fine with those cracks. if you are really worried about it then have it welded. im not familiar with welding shops in your area but as long as they can weld iron your good to go

That's just a little guy. I wouldn't worry about it. Run that ----! Then when it finally wears out get a different turbo. Sadly it's most like the most cost effective choice unless you know someone local that'll do it for cheap. Also there are companies (like bullseye power) that make aftermarket turbine housings. But I don't believe they have one for you application. Mistu, Schwitzer, and Garrett. I had the same issue (except worse) back in my ghetto turbo days and I really didn't have any issues.But hey good luck.
