Tuner Toys change in discount structure for HMT.
 

Hey Guys,

I posted this info in our FS post, but know that more of you will have a chance to read it if I post up here in GD. You can read a prettier description in the FS post, but here are the cliff notes.

We were loosing money on several products with the flat 5% HMT discount, so we are replacing it with different discounts that are based on our actual product margins. We'll also be running "HMT Only" pricing and promotions.

Okay, Steve, here's the cliffnotes:

- You sent a good hearted kid a couple oil fittings that were much appreciated.
- Everyone associated with the build of that car was pre-occupied with other ----, lazy, stupid, passive-aggressive, or some combination of all four, except for me and Rob.
- Your sponsorship failled because no one lived up to their expectations except for me, who had nothing to do with the deal, and if I had known everybody else sucked so badly I would have made a point of spending more time on the car so that it succeeded - based on reputation and HT dicksize I ASSumed Rob was in good hands.
- I am more than happy to sport you and/or TT's stickers on my racecar, as I got a free fitting from somebody, somewhere. Since it came directly from Rob, I should ask him for a Rob sticker to round out the collection.

We were loosing money on some fo the stuff that is already -----d out. Things like ARP Hardware have little to no margins at all. We literally make like 2 or 3 dollars on each set of headstuds. When you figure in a 5% discount, you end up in the red. It really sucks on that kind of stuff. On other items, the margins are much bigger, so we'll try to start specials on those for you guys.

They probably do, but I doubt you can use it at anything less than 2.1+ liters @ 10K rpms or on a 700+ whp turbo car - you know, where 2.5" charge pipe and stock B-series port size starts being a restriction. I mean, 4G63 heads outflow ITR heads, and at lower lifts to boot, if you really need an example of why flowbench numbers don't mean anything.

Even though I've only bought a few items from Craig, I rock the TT stickers with pride...pretty much the only stickers on my car. Had a buddy of mine run up to me all excited telling me about this new online place he found for parts called TunerToys...to which I pointed to my sticker and he immediately shut up ;D I'm all about free advertising for the smaller hmt guys...kinda' like a brotherhood here ;)

I couldn't see Craig saying that and I'm sure Daves words was takin also out of context. I could see him not telling people about hmt because there going to get flamed and leave anyways(meaning shitty here for noobs), but I cant see him saying hmt=----.

Is it this comment that you are talking about deleting? Was this originally directed at me? If so, then you are way off. I refer our customers here all the time. I have never said that HMT has become a "shitty place". But I do warn them about several things...

- Be prepared to be violently flamed.
- Be prepared for harsh racial slurs.
- If you make it through the first two, you'll love the place.
