Tried out my friend G-Tech for my 1/4 mile today

My friend has a G-Tech and I wanted to know how my car ran before I put my HM turbo on next month, I didn't have my wieght o fmy car so I couldn't get my HP, but with an AEM CAI and racing cat, and a Greddy SP Catback I ran a slow 16.65 @86or 88mph (don't remember)1/4 mi and 8.8 0-60mph. I know it sucks, but I was actually expecting like a 18 or 19 1/4 mi time, so that's better than I thought. :)can't wait until I get that stupid turbo on! ;D

g-tech = ghey... its a piece of ---- when it comes to anything on there.. yes .1 accuracy when your at the ------- track!!! its gotta be same road conditions, same elevation and same weather... thats why its not accurate.. to my usage and all my friends its about 1 second off give or take.

-friend ran on the g-tech 16.0 and at the track he ran 16.4, 16.5 and 16.7

-another ran a 01 monte carlo at 14.1 :o insane for just that non-ss monte huh??? hahaha

-my stock 92 accord has like 260hp according to the g-tech

I own one, and use it a lot to check times, In my case it is accurate by .1 the worst .3 seconds to my track times. With my experience, I would believe that time as being accurate. Now as far as HP figures go, I don't trust it for nothings. My civic before turbo had 60whp and my WRX has 206 whp. not one of these numbers are close to the real numbers, but for 1/4 mile times, as long as you have it leveled, 00, and are on a pretty flat road, it should be a pretty close time.

If it claims to measure anything but the voltage coming out of your cigarette lighter, it's bullshit. I doubt it could even accurately measure that. :-\

I have a g-tech pro and I can tell you its fairly accurate.

I've used it at the track when making runs and on some somewhat straight roads elsewhere. Its accurate always within about a tenth. When i was at the track i used it on 3 runs... two it was dead on and the one time it was a little off.

The key is getting the unit perfectly straight on your windshied and getting it level with the meter.

If you enter your weight correctly then your horsepower should be relatively close...uses the same forumla found on any site where you enter your 1/4 et time and your trapped mph....

Regardless its a nice unit to tell if iupgrades made a difference or not. I personally like mine but its hard to find nice flat/straight road anywhere :(

Not in Florida, I got flat straight roads everywhere. ;) I guess it's all about personal experience, maybe the one you used draztik, was not calibrated correctly, but I have used 2 different ones and I get accurate times.
check their website to see how it works.
