Transmissions
Does anyone know of a good site to find used manual transmissions? I’m looking for a reasonably priced one, not looking to bust the budget on this one.

That site is amazing thanks

Re: Transmissions
Man most are pricey. What kind of transmission are you looking for?
|
Re: Transmissions
I’m just looking to replace the ex transmission on my 96 civic, nothing special. And I have noticed that they are pretty pricey, but I figured it would be cheaper then getting one rebuilt.

Re: Transmissions
just look around for any d series 92-00 tranny if thats the case. you can usually find them from 75-200 all depending on where you find it and what kind it is

Re: Transmissions
I got $300 for my last Si trans
|
Re: Transmissions
honda parts are so dumb. if you want to get a part for say, a 97 civic. you could get the sme parts out of an older civic or teg, for half the price

Re: Transmissions
really?
Care to provide cross reference on the shitter forks? |
Re: Transmissions
150-300 is what you should be paying for a ex trans
|
Re: Transmissions
Bone, shitter ---- interchange doesn't matter in a beater trans. ;)
|
Re: Transmissions
I sold my Si tranny for $150 shipped. I would deff keep looking. Try Honda-Tech, one of the only things they are good for.

Re: Transmissions
So I know that the ex and si are geared different then the other base models but is there any difference between the si and ex transmissions?

Re: Transmissions
Yes, 96 and up EX have steel shifter forks which is stronger, that is it. If you just need a replacement get a 5th gen DX tranny for $50 and go get 40 mpg ;)
