Re:tranny swap opinions?

i've bought two...one for 100 and one for 150. the 100 one has bad second/third syncros and the 150 one is good, i think. i'm going to crack them apart to check and build one with all the good parts from the 2. check the classifieds here, honda-tech, importlounge, importatlanta, etc. if you're patient you can get a whole swap for less than whay you've been quoted.

Problem is that I need it as soon as my new clutch gets here. If I do find one cheap on a board, shipping is a factor and so is condition. I may buy one and find it a piece of ---- or have a bad gear. If this is the cae I can just bring this one back. It makes sense to look around but I called all over CT and Mass and no one has ---- accept for Z6 trannies and they want 300+ for those. I hope at least I get a hug after!

Just went on www.car-part.com found a few cheaper but they are in AZ or west coast. The shipping would eat the difference and it would hard to return if defective. Guess I'm fucked.

If you pay that much for any d-series tranny I will fly to where ever you live and kick you in the ass. I got my Y8 tranny with less than 50k miles for $220 I think? The last Z6 tranny I got was for $40. Just search online forums and you can easily get a Y8 tranny in good condition for less than $300.
